VDH frequently writes about the changes that have happened to California over his lifetime. He is in his 60's. When he was a child, the area was about 50% Hispanic, ~50% Anglo, and a small %age of Asian. Back then, it was a functioning and prosperous civilization. The area was a success when it had a slight majority of Hispanics. VDH is not anti-Hispanic. He is against massive, unchecked illegal immigration without assimilation to the American way of life. He is against a state government that stifles productivity and yet will not police activities that turn rural areas into a lawless dumping ground.
"Be of good comfort, Master Ridley, and play the man! We shall this day light such a candle, by God's grace, in England, as I trust shall never be put out."
--Hugh Latimer, October 16, 1555
