Exiled UFC fighter Junie Browning, who was being sought by Phuket police in Thailand for his participation in a bar-room brawl that carried over to a local hospital, turned himself over to authorities late Wednesday night (Dec. 21, 2011) after failing find his way out of the country and back to the United States.

Phuket Wan has it:
Junie Allen Browning visited a police station on Phuket late today in the latest twist to the American fugitive fighter's battle to tell his side of a brawl that started in a bar and continued at a local hospital. Browning's surprise appearance with his girlfriend Laura came at the Chalong Police Station in southern Phuket. At the police station at the same time were others who participated in a now-notorious Phuket brawl. The wounds inflicted in Browning's fight with tourists and staff 10 days ago at a bar on Phuket and in Patong Hospital, where the injured were all taken, were real. However, the varying accounts of what actually took place and who was the aggressor leave the facts yet to be decided. It is believed Browning opted to go to police after he or perhaps his family and friends read an article in Phuketwan in which American Denny Bowman, a Phuket resident and a warden with the US Embassy, suggested that Browning ''surrender.'' None of the people involved in the brawl were held by police tonight.
"The Lunatik" was originally seeking extradition via the United States Embassy; however, his new priority became immediate medical attention to treat the wounds suffered in his attack, which left him in "severe pain" with "fainting and dizzy spells and severe head trauma."

Browning (4-5) gained notoriety for acting like a drunken hick on season eight of The Ultimate Fighter (TUF). He was 1-1 following the conclusion of the Spike TV reality show but was eventually dismissed from the promotion for his legal troubles outside the Octagon.

The Kentucky native has lost four straight fights, including a submission defeat to Jacob Clark at MMA Fight Pit: "Genesis" last August in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

No charges have been filed at this time; however, the investigation by Phuket police is ongoing. His alleged assailants have already provided statements and a mediated settlement is likely at this juncture.

Stay tuned to as this story continues to develop. In the meantime, you can hear Junie explain how it all went down right here.
