Actually the best surmon on Mary Magdalene ive heard...but not something ive ever thought hard about. This priest offers an interesting insight psychologically, as to why Jesus appeared first to Mary (avoiding all the myths about them being lovers, which has become a popular point of view, though ungrounded)
Would be interested to hear what others think about this
He aires a tad on the universalist side...when he mentions the possible salvation of Judas...and he also makes quite clear where he stands on Women in ministry...saying that if Mary had done what Pauline Scriptures say Women should do...sit down and shut up...she might never have been the person who began the Great Commission...she saw it...and she spoke...infact...he could have gone further by saying GOD commanded first women to spread the Gospel, for he appeared to a women first, and told her first to go and spread the news.
Clearly, I'd say he hasnt a problem with Women Bishops then :laugh:
