Video: Michael Bisping Undergoes Successful Knee Surgery
Jun 14, 2012 - Michael Bisping is already on the road to the recovery.
"The Count," who was forced to pull out of his UFC 149 fight against Tim Boetsch last week due to a knee injury, underwent successful knee surgery Wednesday in Los Angeles.
"Leg feels great," he texted MMAFighting.com following the surgery.
As a result, Bisping is hoping to return to the Octagon as soon as September, possibly in time for UFC 151 on Sept. 1.
"I’ve never, ever once pulled out of a fight," Bisping said on Monday’s episode of The MMA Hour. "[Before] the Ultimate Fighter final I was training with Georges St-Pierre, and I tore my posterior cruciate ligament, my PCL, several days before the fight, and I still went ahead and fought. I’ve done training camps with one hand. I’ve constantly fought injured, because that’s part of the game. That’s the way that it goes."
Following the surgery, Bisping tweeted a picture of the "loose bodies," as he called them on the show, that were removed from his knee during the surgery.
Bisping chronicled his trip to the doctor, as well as other happenings in his life, in his newest video blog, which can be seen below.
