"UFC 2009 Undisputed" roster revealed with more than 80 UFC fighters
by MMAjunkie.com Staff on Mar 19, 2009 at 6:49 pm ET
The full roster of fighters has been unveiled for the highly anticipated upcoming release of "UFC 2009 Undisputed."

The game, available on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, is slated for a May release.

More than 80 fighters will appear in the debut version of "UFC Undisputed," which is part of a multi-year deal between the UFC and game developer THQ.

The highly anticipated title will be the most realistic MMA video game ever developed, according to THQ.

A few surprises can be found in the divisional breakdowns. A number of fighters in the game, for example, have since signed with other organizations, including Andrei Arlovski, Tito Ortiz, Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic and Tim Sylvia. Others, such as Josh Burkman and Matt Arroyo, were recently dropped from the organization but still appear in the game.

Additionally, a few notables are noticeably absent, including Randy Couture, Dustin Hazelett, Matt Hamill, Josh Neer and Jeremy Stephens. And some recent additions to the UFC roster aren't in the game, including Shane Carwin, Denis Kang, Akihiro Gono and Caol Uno.

As we previously reported, former UFC light heavyweight champion Forrest Griffin is featured on the cover of the U.S. version of the game, and UFC welterweight title-holder Georges St. Pierre graces the Canadian version.

The full list of fighters, courtesy of GameSpot.com, can be found below (fighters who can compete in multiple weight classes are designated):

1. I'm going to personally see to it that Mirko is good again!
2. How much you wanna bet that they made Tito the weakest LHW:)

I cannot wait to play this, but I will rent it before I buy it.

THQ makes professional wrestling games,
I hope that this isn't the same game, just replacing the ring with a cage,
and wrestlers with UFC fighters...

I can't wait to make myself a one person KO reel. I plan on eating backfists, roundhouse kicks, and hundreds of knees to the face.

I made a good PDF scan of an article (with pictures) in my Game Informer magazine. I need to get it uploaded to a good server so people can download it. Anybody know of a good free server that can handle lots of bandwidth per day? The file is 1.6mb, so it's a high quality.
