I am a fan of both.. prolly more for Chris than Carlos.. in this fight...ermm.. "almost fight"...

The incomparable Showdown Joe Ferraro brought word of the unfortunate news earlier today.

Condit (26-5) raised his stock considerably after pulverizing Dan Hardy at UFC 120 across the pond late last year. It was the third straight victory for the former WEC Welterweight Champion (and his second straight stoppage) and a win over Lytle could have made a strong argument for "The Natural Born Killer's" place among the current title contenders.

Unfortunately that opportunity will have to wait.

Lytle (30-17-5), who could be knocking on the contender's door himself, has seemingly gotten his second wind in the 170-pound division, winning four straight contests and racking up another collection of "Fight Night" bonuses.

UFC welterweight Chris Lytle will reportedly remain on the UFC 127: "Penn vs. Fitch" pay-per-view event on Feb. 26 in Sydney, Australia, now that Brian Ebersole has agreed to step in for the injured Carlos Condit.

Fight News Australia brought word of the change in opponents earlier today.

Ebersole (44-15) has racked up seven straight wins and is 11-1 since 2007 competing mostly "Down Under." His only loss during that span was a submission (strikes) defeat to Bellator big shot Hector Lombard under the Cage Fighting Championship (CFC) banner in September 2008.

The "Bad Boy" will make his UFC debut on just over two weeks notice against one of the sport's most grizzled veterans.

I'm not paying for this one....well only $5 :)

I LOVE me some Carlos Condit--really bummed that he's out, as it was the main attraction on this card for me.

Think I'll either skip it or catch it out somewhere. Not buying it!:angry:
