He hasn't earned it.. no way.. now how.

I like the guy.. a buddy of mine knows him... and he is a GREAT guy.. but he does NOT need to get that shot... maybe put him up against Rampage or Lyoto.. THEN.. if he wins.. sure...

I agree, love the guy, much respect to him and all, but 1 fight against a former champ would be the way to go. I figured the winner of Bader/Jones would face the winner for Rampage/Silva with the winner getting the shot at Rua.

Nonetheless, that's the fight they chose and I wish Jon Jones all the best.

They needed an opponent for Shogun and Jones had no injuries. I'm actually more excited for this fight than Evans vs Shogun.

He can win. I'm not saying he will but he can. Shogun isn't great when coming off of a surgery. Just watch his fights with Forrest and Coleman.

I think Jones does deserve the shot. He's been running through everyone in the division and he's exciting. This fight will sell more tickets than Rashad/Shogun and that's really what it's all about. I know I'll be watching.

But look at Jon's record...outside of the 3 in red.. who has he fought that is "contender material"... he hasn't even fought a guy that fought for the belt and lost.. let alone a top 10 contender...

rashad has what? 15 wins over half are decisions....
jones has 11 wins and 2 are decisions, 7 are ko/tkos

who would you rather watch fight? who deserves a title fight more--- the guy with a loss and two decision wins his last three fights, or a guy with a sub and two first round tkos in his last three fights


rashad is a bigger blacker version of gsp, and i am a gsp fan, but he def fights safe, fights to win not to stop and fights for money..... he is a greg jackson fighter

look at lyotos record two back to back losses, how can he be a contender?

anyways i am sick and tired of seeing jackson rua machida and rashad fight each other, they're just trading fights, it's getting old

It's not the quality of the wins... it's the quality of the fighters that Jones has won against.

Well...there are other fighters out there that have earned it...
But instead of saying who do you want to see fight for the title... how about .. who should be fighting for the #1 spot...
Jons vs Forrest
Jons vs Franklin.. either of those two makes great sense...
Jackson.. sure.. but not sure where Rampage is at now...
Thiago Silva makes ALL the sense in the world to me...
How about Lyoto.. winner gets a shot.. Granted.. I am biased to Lyoto...

All make more sense than giving Jones a shot at the belt...

I don't see that... I am a Rashad hater... but he goes out and fights... doesn't lay back and wait...

He lost to the current champ.. that puts him in a #1 spot...he lost to 'Page... that still keeps him in the top 5.. and many people felt he won that fight.. I don't.. but many do.



Lyoto/Randy.. man.. still can't believe that fight is happening. But it's a nothing fight in regards to standings.... Lyoto wins.. don't do much.. Randy wins.. he won't be making a title run...

I would love to see Rashad/Lyoto fight again..
