does anyone else hear Christ in music

perhaps I just have a vivid imagination, but regularly I come across a piece of music that kinda makes me day dream. That is that in my mind somehow I construct something around what I'm hearing. For example, the above case. Its the first movement of Stravinski "The Rite of Spring" I have no idea what its really about at all...but I tell you what I hear in it.

I hear creation, the story of Genesis. Like the piece begins with a small motif thats repeated throughout the performance on the basson. kinda like a Call. GOD, says the Scriptures, Spoke Creation into being. The momentum picks up with more and more insturments playing variations on the Motif...I have imagies in my head of plants popping up out of the ground, like some kinda speeded up camara that captures things that go to slowly for the Human eye to perceive and then speeds it up...I see everything getting louder and louder, larger and larger right up until the creation of Man.

Does anyone ever hear or see these sorts of things when listening to music? Coz this isnt the only piece

Music touches me really deep and I think it's one of the ways God chooses to speak loudest to me. Through some it's in the written word for me it's the verbal expression of faith that really gets me.

:) I'm glad I'm not the only one. I sing quite a bit which can be thought of as a form of both prayer and worship

Do you like Adrian Snell? He does a lot of good songs, with powerful lyrics, unfortunatley his best is not yet on Youtube, My Favourites are "no escape" a song about Judgement, and "Child of Darkness"..I cant find them on youtube....same with Caleb Starkey, although he is more what you might refer to as an Eco-Christian, his music is usually about the world/environment, whereas Adrian Snell is usually based on Liturgy of somekind

I give you some examples.

Although My point is that...it doesnt have to be Christian...I mean with Christian Worship deliberatley designed to invoke Christ, you might EXPECT to hear him. I dont need the music to be Christian in Design...and often I still get mental images of something Christian :w00t:

Honestly I'm not into the church music genre.

What really gets me is people with pain and problems that still try to look to Christ. I like the band Seventh Day Slumber and DMX is my favorite artist. Not for that gangster crap but his prayers and his form of gospel is very powerful. My favorite song is "Right or Wrong" Go to my myspace profile dave and watch the videos of him reading a prayer that he wrote.

I'm like, Crisco, Dave, maybe not so much "church" music. I like all kinds of music genres (Christian, Country, Rock, Blues, even some rap, etc...; not really a fan of Heavy Metal though). I love ballads 'cause they're usually telling a "story" or create a picture for the listener.

To me, any artist who practices their craft/talent in whatever "field" is using the "blessing" they were gifted with and in turn bless "us" with the experience. So I hear, see and feel Jesus in all these ways. :)
