Egypts Arab Spring has ended...in Military Rule
Cast your minds back to Hosni Mubarack, President of Egypt, Pro-Western Dictator, Peaceful boarder with Jewish Israel, and Pretender in terms of Islamic States.
But the People did not want him. The clustered in the Square and demanded his head on a platter, promised reforms were simply not enough. The Western Super-Powers abandoned him, Barack Obama, Fourty Fourth President of the Federal Republic of The United States of America, rattled on about Democrasy and Liberation Whilst British Conservatism reminded the world that, Pro-West though Mubarack had been, he was also a dictator, boo, hiss.
Then the People spoke, and they ellected with one voice, The Muslim Brotherhood. Israels Skin crawled as for the first time a Hardened Islamic Egypt put her in her place. Barack Obama, appologised profusely to the Palestinians, and David Cameron barked on about some two state peace process which didnt involve Benyamin Netanyahu building on the west bank...and just to prove the point Palestine was recognised as its own Soverignty by the United Nations.
...and then disastor....The people suddenly realized they didnt like an Islamic State after all, far too many rules, much to much oppression.
There was much Knashing of teeth...and more crying in the national square...and hey-ho a military juncta takes control.
ooops...soo much for freedom, the democratic vote and...YES, The United State and The United Kingdom just lost a friend, and ended up with a country going throw writhing turmoil, only to rise as another dictatorship.
Jolly good show. Shame its a true story.
I just saw this on tv when I got home! Yesterday, Morsi was saying, "I'm not going anywhere!"
Today: Hey, Morsi, what was that?...your Muslim Brotherhood *** being overthrown that's what!
Did you see the crowds in the street, Dave...incredible! But why didn't they take to the streets like this immediately after his election, what took them so long?! The way I understood it, Morsi was voted in by those for/in the Muslim Brotherhood not those that were in the streets during the "Arab Spring" calling for democracy and Mubarak's ousting.
Did you hear about Obama sending tear gas to Egypt?:
No...as I understand it, these were free and fair ellections.
Those people DID vote the Muslim Brotherhood to power...The problem they had was, once the Muslim Brotherhood was in power, they wanted to change Egypt from being a Country with Islam as its main religion...to an Islamic State...now an Islamic State is something alltogether different...because in an Islamic State the Religious Officials are ABOVE the Political Officials, AND ABOVE the Armed Forces...and they enforce full Sharia Law...which is also extended to Tourists...which of course is vital for Egypt.
Morsi was in the process of trying to push through an Egyptian Constituion which would make the above all happen...when the people who Ellected him changed their minds.
Well...Technically speaking, The Muslim Brotherhood are the Legitamate Authority on a democratic basis...you dont overthrow a Government...you have to vote them out of power...or else it is technically speaking an UNAUTHOURISED and NON DEMOCRATIC measure...often known as Rebellion.
The truth is very simple...it doesnt matter who gets democratically voted...because the TRUE power is with the Military....where the comanding officers are NOT ellected.
"The People" did NOT remove Morsi...that was done by a renegade armed force.
The truth of the matter, as I said all along...was that the West made a grave mistake in abandoning Hosni Mubarack...who had the power to keep control, was moderate but not fanatical, and was pro-west.
It just shows how blind the people are...I mean...if they've had a long and troubled past...how does that change with an ellected leader...if the ellected leader must still owe alligience to the Military
Thats what I dont like! I'd rather have a Monarchy, at least they have legitamate right through birth...rather then an unacountable, secretive and corrupt bunch of senior officers....We speak from expierience of having lived through a similar thing in our own land.
The English Civil War, was designed as a sort of Early Democratic Government mandate...They removed the Monarchy and set up the Government...but it was corrupt and unaccountable and ended up being a Military Jaunta..."The Council of Officers" rulled under Oliver Cromwell
The best part of a decades worth of history was ruined in this experiment.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rXOrkTrKzjc You can see what happened when Cromwell turned on the Government and sent them the same way as the King...this is his speech to The Rump when he dissolved them. Listen...this is almost exactly the same as Egypt...First the Ligitamate ruller is removed on the grounds of being tyranical, and then a democratic Government installed...and that fails within the first year, and the Military take over. Just as the Egyptian Army claim the people called on them to perform the coup...so Cromwell claims the people have called upon him to clense the nation a second time politically.
