Personal website question

OK, this is an inquiry directed at all my web-savvy friends out there: I want to put up a really simple website. Iíve already got the domains www.VCURamFan.com & www.BenWestcott.com from Hover.com. I donít want a ton of bells & whistles with my site, just basically a place-holder that would direct people towards my Facebook, Twitter, etc. What do I need to learn/do to make this happen? I know I could go to a site like SquareSpace.com & pay them to do one for me, but I canít justify paying for something as basic as what I want at the moment. Advice?

I have my two personal websites (stumpdotcom.com and skiffguards.com) registered through GoDaddy and they offer free web hosting but you have to put up with their ads on your site. As it is, I just pay $6 per month, per site along with about $20 a year for each domain name.

So, you might want to check to see if hover.com offers free web hosting services. If not, you might be able to transfer your domains to GoDaddy and use their free hosting service. There might be a transfer fee, though.

Hover's $10/yr for each domain & doesn't put up adds. They don't offer hosting, but there's a separate site (SquareSpace.com) owned by the same people that does, but it's about $24 a year.

Sorry, Ben, I have no clue when it comes to starting a site. Good luck with it!

Yep, issue 1 is done and I'm working on issue 2 now (even though it's kind of slow going). I guess I never did make an announcement on the forums that the book was available for sale. Maybe I should do that.
