He had a special clause in there that stated if he did NOT improve on his stats from last season, his contract would be voided. He didn't improve due to missing a few games.
I'm sick of it too. It may drive some players to leave, players that were in a contract year.....like Michael Bush and/or Robert Gallery. It's gotta be just as frustrating for the players as it is for the fans.....if not more.
Davis thinks that the turnaround is attributed more to Hue Jackson than to Tom Cable, so he's going to make Jackson the head coach rather than lose him to another team.
Man! We had a fantastic season!!! First time in 8 years that we've finished at (or better than) .500.....and we blew up the AFC West going 6-0 against 'em. How does Mr. Davis reward Tom Cable? By not renewing his option on his contract. Jeez. One step forward, two senile steps back.
