sure, there's no substitute for a real copy right. the poor man copy write is just a little insurance so you can let your work be seen while waiting for the real copy write to get recorded. its still a gamble i guess.
songwriters in Nashville sometimes do a poor man copy write. they mail the original hand written version of the song to them self and leave it in the sealed envelope. the post mark and sealed envelope should hold up in court.
