Fourth Andrei Arlovski vs. Tim Sylvia Bout Set for August ONE FC Event

Aug 3, 2012 - According to a Tweet (https://twitter.com/ONEFCMMA/status/231248473771606016) from ONE FC, former UFC heavyweight champions Tim Sylvia (http://www.sbnation.com/mma/fighter/130175/tim-sylvia) and Andrei Arlovski (http://www.sbnation.com/mma/fighter/129236/andrei-arlovski) will fight at ONE FC: Pride of a Nation on Aug. 31 in Manila, Philippines. This bout marks the fourth meeting between the two fighters.

Arlovski was originally scheduled (http://www.mmafighting.com/news/2012/7/16/3162347/andrei-arlovski-vs-soa-palelei-jens-pulver-vs-eric-kelly-set-for-one) to face Soa Palelei (http://www.sbnation.com/mma/fighter/158013/soa-palelei) at the late August show, but according to Palelei on his Twitter (http://www.twitter.com/soathehulk) account, the fight fell through when he declined to sign a five-fight contract with the East Asian promotion.

Sylvia, 36, recently campaigned for a return to the UFC and was initally tapped to face Daniel Cormier (http://www.sbnation.com/mma/fighter/128882/daniel-cormier) in the Strikeforce (http://www.sbnation.com/mma/promotion/strikeforce) grand prix's final Strikeforce bout, but that plan was ultimately nixed by Zuffa executives. Sylvia is 7-3 in his MMA career since leaving the UFC.

Arlovski, 33, is riding a two-fight win streak since being bounced from Strikeforce. He is 4-4 since leaving the UFC.

The two former champions faced each other three times previously under the UFC banner: UFC 51, UFC 59 and UFC 61. Sylvia lost the first bout by submission and won the subsequent two meetings, first by TKO and ultimately by decision in their most-recent fight.

I like Tim and wanted to see if he'd be serious again. In a recent interview, Dana mentioned that if Tim does beat a big name person it might warrant him a chance back in the UFC. Therefore, it kind of stinks he didn't get to go to Strikeforce. At this point beating Andre isn't really beating a big name.
