'Jackass' star dies in car accident

"Jackass" star Ryan Dunn died in a car crash in Pennsylvania early Monday morning, TMZ is reporting. The website confirmed the accident with the mother of fellow "Jackass" star Bam Margera.

The 34-year-old Dunn appeared in all of the "Jackass" movies, and had two separate films in post-production and another in development, according to the IMDB.

Dunn and an unidentified person both died in the crash which happened around 3 a.m. at Route 322 and New Street in West Goshen Township, according to TMZ.

I hate this for his family. I wonder how many times his poor mom has been scared something like this would happen. Everytime I would see the clips for their movie I would tell me husband one of them is going to die from being stupid.

Second Victim in Ryan Dunn Crash an Iraq War Veteran

Read more: http://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/2011/06/21/second-victim-in-ryan-dunn-crash-iraq-war-veteran-report-says/#ixzz1PwAbnUOO
The fallout from "Jackass" star Ryan Dunn's fatal car accident continued Tuesday as the identity of the second victim was revealed, and film critic Roger Ebert (http://www.foxnews.com/topics/entertainment/roger-ebert.htm#r_src=ramp) backed off his initial comments about the crash.

Dunn's friend Zachary Hartwell, 30, was in the passenger seat of Dunn's when it veered of a Pennsylvania highway and burst into flames early Monday morning, the investigating coroner confirmed.

The two friends had been out celebrating a new deal they had signed.
Hartwell was a former Navy Seal who had been on three tours of Iraq (http://www.foxnews.com/topics/politics/supplemental-spending.htm#r_src=ramp), RadarOnline.com (http://www.radaronline.com/exclusives/2011/06/other-victim-jackass-car-crash-was-newly-married-iraqi-war-vet-navy-seal) reported. He had just gotten married last October, and Dunn's girlfriend had been a bridesmaid at the wedding.

ďThat is them and another friend toasting one another in the last Twitter (http://www.foxnews.com/topics/twitter.htm#r_src=ramp) photograph," a source told the website, refering to a photo Dunn posted on Twitter (http://www.radaronline.com/exclusives/2011/06/other-victim-jackass-car-crash-was-newly-married-iraqi-war-vet-navy-seal) shortly before the accident took place. "We do not think they were drunk or anything like that. Zachary was not a big drinker at all. Ryanís girlfriend Angie was a bridesmaid at Zachary and Rachelís wedding."

Both Dunn and Hartwell were pronounced dead at the scene. Excessive speed was being eyed as a cause, and toxicology tests are now being performed.

Meanwhile Roger Ebert said on Tuesday he was "probably too quick to tweet" when he posted on Twitter about "the accident.

Ebert tweeted that "friends don't let jackasses drink and drive." The message prompted a landslide of posts on Ebert's Facebook (http://www.foxnews.com/topics/facebook.htm#r_src=ramp) page, and the popular social network temporarily took down his page for violating terms of use.

Ebert responded, asking Facebook on Twitter why his page was removed. He wrote that it "makes you look bad."

A few hours later, Ebert tweeted that his Facebook page was "back online." Facebook apologized and says Ebert's page was "removed in error."

Forget whether he was drunk or not. Going over 100mph in a residential area, killing your passenger? this kind of person will never get any sympathy from me. Just thank God he didn't kill anyone else. My friends dad was killed by a speeding driver going over 100mph and these kind of negligent lowlifes are nothing but scumbags. Good riddance.

This must be Dunn setting up something hilarious from the afterlife, because I can see bad things happening if they actually do this.

The dead giveaway that it's Dunn from the afterlife is the unintentionally hilarious way they draw reference to the matchbox car up his ass.

Nobody but the scientologists could possibly be that unintentionally hilarious. While few have ever accused WBC of being a well thought out, or an actually sane group of people to associate with, they must have known that referencing such a hilarious piece of cinematic history would only make the masses ensue in laughter and thus have a deeper sadness for the loss of Ryan Dunn.

RIP RYAN....nobody will ever forget that x-ray of the toy car up your ass.

These people are so blinded by their self-righteousness and so busy calling out everyone else as sinner, judging and condemning, they can't see the log in their own eye. I'm sure the devil is pleased with his handiwork and the followers he's gained with Westboro Baptist Church.

Well...........the strong and intelligent supposedly survive... and the others... well they drive drunk and crash through guardrails killing their friends.

Clearly, this church screens "Jackass" during it's sermon, as a guide for what NOT to do in life. Sounds like a fun church, just don't expect me to donate any money to it cuz I already bought the DVD...

Oh, I thought natural selection was about the "fittest"...strongest, and had more to do with non-human species. As for humans, intelligent people make this same stupid choice to drink and drive all the time. Some get lucky and some don't.

Yeah. Obviously, they are going to test the driver--do they do toxicology on passengers as well? It might answer why his friend would get in the car with him.

He got in the car with him because he was his close personal friend that he trusted no matter what. Navy SEALS don't lose all their judgment skills simply because of a little alcohol. He knew Dunn was a crazy driver, because anybody who knew Dunn already knew that.

This just sucks no matter how it's looked at.

I agree.

In one article his mom says that she warned him constantly to watch his speed. That he was always driving at dangerously high speeds.

Itís sad for his family but he did this to himself. Unfortunately he took the life of his friend but thankfully he didnít hurt anyone else.

Thatís really sad about your friendís father. Thatís a terrible, senseless loss.

Well if somebody makes the decision to drive drunk then I would have to question their intelligence to begin with. So I would have to disagree with you comment above. Intelligent people don't make that decision in my opinion. If you choose to drink and drive then you are an idiot by default.

from Johnny Knoxville's Blog...

At Ryan's memorial Wednesday night in West Chester, people were invited up to the microphone to say a few words about his life, whatever they were feeling at that moment. I walked to the podium and tried to share memories of my dear friend, but the words were just spinning in my head. What came out were the mumblings of a man trying his best not to cry, and I wasn't even successful at that. I didn't break down, because I knew Angie or his family didn't need to see that, but I also didn't get to properly convey what Ryan meant to me. I won't be able to do that here either, but I will try. Here is what I wished I could have told everyone then.

I felt 34-percent funnier when I was with Ryan, but I guess everyone did. He had such a hair trigger laugh reflex. He lived his life wanting to laugh and wanting you to laugh with him. He would cackle really ēēēēing loud, too, and it wasn't uncommon that he would fall over from it. Sometimes I would fall with him because his spirit was very contagious.

He wasn't incapable of seriousness, though. Ryan was a great listener. If you were having troubles, he was always someone you could go sit down and talk to. Granted, most of our sitting down was actually standing up playing pool together, but he was always there if you were sad about something. That's why all this is even harder because right now I really need to talk to him but I can't.

http://www.dickhouse.tv/.a/6a0133f4950835970b014e895d7bbf970d-400wi

Ryan also had an enormous capacity to love. His friends and family got a lot, but a lion's share of that went to his sweet and beautiful Angie. If he wasn't with her he would be talking about her. More times than not he would smile wide through that filthy ass beard of his and say something along the lines of, "How did I ever luck up and land her?" Well, it sure wasn't because of the way he smelled that's for sure. (Dunn despised water and rarely bathed.) It was because he had a pure, open heart, and many other qualities of which I am writing about now.

He was very loyal, too, and sometimes that bit him in the ass. We were filming a bit for number two where someone was going to stand in front of the Stingmore mine as it exploded. After we did the test, nobody wanted to do it except me. I wasn't thrilled about it, but I knew we needed footage. As I was doing my usual pre-stunt ritual of sitting in someone's car listening to Roger Alan Wade very loudly, Dunn climbed in the backseat. He asked me if I was doing it and I said, "Yeah." He told me he was going to sit this one out and I said, "That's fine, buddy, I got it." We went back to listening to Roger and ten minutes later someone knocked on the window and said it's time. I got out of the car and Dunn fell in behind me grouchily saying, "Ah hell, I'll do it with you." Actually, I don't know if he said that or anything, but I could tell how he was walking beside me that he was doing it. Bam decided he would as well and we all went in and got our asses shot real good. Whether it was a bit for jackass, a friend in need, or his beloved Angie, Dunn was as loyal as they come.

http://www.dickhouse.tv/.a/6a0133f4950835970b01538f6a1699970b-800wi

I'm becoming upset now because this isn't right, goddamnit. Ryan, I had to go wake up Madison and tell her you were gone. Do you know how hard that was?!! She loved you so much and I know you loved her, so why, buddy? Rocko will never get to know you like she did, nor will my daughter that is coming in October. I cry a lot about that.

Roger wrote a pretty song for you, but you're not here to listen to it. And I'm hurting!! We all are because we loved you so much and now you're gone. I know your spirit lives on in me, Angie, Bam and everyone you touched, but that's pretty tough to see right now through the tears. I'm starting to ramble now, just like I did at the memorial, so I'll stop. You'll have to excuse me, I'm just very sad because I lost my brother and my world got about 134-percent less funny. I don't know what else to say right now, so I will close with I love you, Ryan. I have a lot of emotions swirling, but I want you to know I love you so very much.

Sincerely and always,

Knoxville
