I'm all over the place in what music I like. However, in general, I mostly like alternative rock (primarily the late-90s flavor of alt. rock). I also like classical music scores and european techno.

Some of my favorite albums of all time:

U2 - The Joshua Tree
Foo Fighters
Semisonic - The Great Divide
Hum - You'd Prefer and Astronaut
Spacehog - Resident Alien
Sinead O'Connor - The Lion and the Cobra
Dead Can Dance - The Serpent's Egg
Beck - Odelay
Goo Goo Dolls - A Boy Named Goo
Sisters of Mercy - Vision Thing
Def Lepard - Hysteria

I go in stages. I've been listening to The Roots, The Mars Volta, U2, Danzig, Common, and Interpol recently.

If I had to pick one album from all time to listen to, it would be a toss up between Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness and The Joshua Tree.

I've been searching on iTunes and I can't find that song anywhere. :tongue0011:

I used to be able to read German well enough to get a general meaning of a sentence, but not enough to translate it word for word.

Have you ever listened to New Model Army? They're a British band, very left-wing... you'd like them. I was a big fan of theirs when I was in Germany and had never heard of them in the US. Supposedly they were banned in the United States, at least that's what I was told when I was stationed in Germany (1992-1994).

I just checked, you can buy New Model Army CD's on Amazon right now. So I did some research and it turns out that they released a song called 51st State, which was supposed to a protest song against "American imperialism" and that made it very, very difficult for them to actually tour in the United States. That's probably where the idea that they were banned in the US came from (keeping in mind that I was told this in 1992).

I love hip hop, and there is some stuff I dig that I guess would be considered gangsta rap. I mean, I still dig the old school Death Row stuff, like The Chronic, and Doggystyle, and a good share of Tupac as well. All that was pretty much considered gangsta. At the same time, I would not call the Wu-Tang Clan gangsta rap.

I don't know, I guess I am just a sucker for catchy and interesting music, of all kinds. I don't subscribe to all the ideologies of the artists I listen to, but I still love the music. Some rappers crack me up, like Master P, but I am not ashamed to say that Ghetto D has some cuts on it!

My favorite music varies from mood to mood too. If I'm uber mad, then I'll jam out the some hard rock or heavy metal. If I'm chillaxing, then lil Bob Marley or oldies but goodies from the 60s, 70s, and 80s. If I want to get in touch with inner gangster, then strictly 90s rap. I enjoy certain classical songs like Moonlight Sonata that really relaxes me.

Rock n Roll.

All kinds... From punk (real punk, not pop), to pop rock (I can dig some of it),
to Classic rock, to 80's metal, death metal, even southern rock, some country (mostly older stuff), Psychobilly, rockabilly, etc...
I just cannot get enough.

Basically, music where the musicians actually play instruments.
I don't really just dig singers.... Not saying they aren't talented, just not my thing.
Also I like some rap, but have trouble respecting mainstream rap/rappers,
its about disrespecting women, making money and having stuff...
Just not a movement I can get behind.
I don't understand the thug thing, acting tough, and dressing stupid.

I go through phases music-wise. Right now I've been looking around at different grunge and 90's bands, which is something I've pretty much avoided my whole life up until now. I'm especially listening to the Melvins, Sonic Youth, Mudhoney, and Love Battery.

I also have gone through more revolutionary music like noise artist Merzbow, post-rock/post-metal bands like Rosetta, Isis, and Cult of Luna, and I enjoy Black Sabbath. I have a ton of stuff I listen at different times, so I really can't nail it all down here. If you're interested in knowing everything just pm me sometime.
