Shamar is a good wrestler, but he didn't do anything except wrestle and throw some really bad punches and elbows. If that's the best Dos Santos' team has, they may be in trouble, but they do get to pick the matches so we'll see how it goes.

BTW, did anybody see Matt Hughes in the closing credits? :w00t:

Most the fighters will probably improve while on the show. I did see Hughes in the credits to.

I was decidedly underwhelmed. Shamar had fantastic takedowns, but nothing else. Nordin had fantastic calm on bottom but nothing else. Junior had a fantastic accent, but nothing else. Brock had fantastic enunciation, but nothing else.

Man, I hope the later fights are better than this one!

dana did say the first few fights are garbage and they really improve ... i thought shamar did a good job since he really only had a few days to train with good coaches ... i think he will show an improvement in his next fight and now he has some time to improve ..

I was quite suprised by Junior...He seemed very self conscious about his ability to speak English...but I could understand him well enough...I distinctly remember when he says to his trainers that Brock is going around and speaking to everyone...and...he didnt feel able to do that coz he thought they wouldnt understand him :unsure-1:

I thought that too originally but then when I watched it again I decided that Brock did it so he could see the guy better. I think his neck is so big he can't turn his head all the way to the side so he had to change position.

Who else thinks Brock's "Chicken ____ to chicken salad" is the dumbest thing ever? It's first insulting to call them chicken s%it, and who the heck thinks so highly of chicken salad?

I love how he "explained" it: "Let me be clear when I said y'all were chicken $h!t. What I meant was, you're just one in two million other guys. Y'all were just chicken $h!t, ya know? Now work hard!"

yeah, he probably made it up himself and feels very proud of it ... so he continues to use it ... brains aren't his strong suit .. LOL

but he's trying .. i don't think either him or jds are good coaches, but i am sure they have a lot of knowledge they can share with these kids ...

Okay, what was the recipe for cutting? Rubbing alcohol, Epsom salts, what the heck did he rub on his body before getting in the tub?

Not that I wanna try it, but I'm curious.

Later.

I haven't seen the last episode yet, but our fighters have a cream they rub on before doing a workout when they're cutting. Apparently, it helps to open the pores and helps them sweat more. I can't remember what it's called though. Sorry.

Well, I'm thinking Charlie must not have retained anything Matt showed him. Was Ramsey's arm even around and under before he tapped?! I agree with DW and Brock, he just gave up.

Charlie was terrible. His stand up was terrible, his takedown defense was marginal and his willingness to quit was through the roof.

I watched but was laid up. Loved seeing Matt, but Charlie just seemed content to just lean against the cage the whole time. He did a great job of stuffing takedowns, but never attempted to circle off the cage.
