There was a little debate this morning on Mike & Mike about these two players.

Tomorrow, they're going to have a few NBA people on the show and ask them the following question:

If you were starting a team right now and you had your choice of either Carmelo Anthony or LeBron James to build your team around, who would you pick?

Anthony: 26 yrs old, 6'8", 228lbs
James: 26 yrs old, 6'8", 250lbs

No other players can be thrown in the mix, this is just between the two of them.

I agree. LeBron.

What spurred the debate was that Mike Greenburg was saying that James is better than Anthony and some fans emailed in claiming that he hated Anthony because of his comments. He merely stated that James is just a better player than Anthony, but Anthony is still very good.

Neither Kevin Durant!! Of course Kobe the 1st!!
Ok if I absolutely had to choose I would say Carmelo is better, but we need to see him within the next 2 yrs get to that "better than Lebron" status...

I now dub you Charlie Sheen....because you've apparantly lost your marbles.

I didn't list Kobe or Kevin Durant in the original statement silly, because they weren't part of the conversation.

Yeah, but do you want to build your team around a guy that still needs to "get there" or a guy that's already there?

Again, I say: LeBron.

blake griffin is more of a charles barkely type of player... He has the scoring and rebounding ability but not the playmaking ability of charles though..

The only thing Carmello has on Lebron is one on one isolation moves and even that is close... Lebron is the better athlete, score, rebounder, playmaker... If i had to compare carmello to a player past or present it would be bernard king!

And he will never be as funny to watch and listen to off the court as Barkley is.

It seems every time I see Charles he cracks me up.
