Tim McGraw visits troops in S.A.

Reported by: Melissa Garcia

SAN ANTONIO -- The country music legend made a special stop in San Antonio to pay tribute to our nation's military heroes.

300 military men and women welcomed McGraw with a huge round of applause as he walked into the Texas National Guard Armory.

"It's humbling to me because these are our true heroes," McGraw told News 4 WOAI. "These guys are the best that we have to offer."

Teaming up with McGraw was Outback Steakhouse. Workers served up a feast to the troops that serve our country.

"These are people that are not giving up," said Jeff Smith, President of Outback Steakhouse. "They were heroes overseas, fighting for our freedoms. And they're heroes today trying to make this transition."

Outback will be donating a million dollars of their proceeds to "Operation Homefront." The San Antonio based organization provides emergency assistance to the families of retired and deployed service members, and wounded warriors.
