almost 110 years after the spire of Christchurch Cathedral toppled in the New Zealand Earth Quake of 1901....its happened again...the earthquake this past week brought the gigantic tower...which they think had twenty tourists inside at the time crashing down (thankfully not onto the Cathedral itself)

The Church belongs to the Diocise of New Zealand as part of the Anglican Church of the Polynesia.

The United States of Americas Secretary of State has said publically that America is willing to help New Zealand...whilst The Prime Minister of England, sent his profound Sorrows by Text Message directly to the Leader of New Zealand, as he is currently on a tour of the middle east trying to barter out arms deals (I kid ye not) in the wake of the arab revolts :rolleyes:

So we're broke, can't help our own citizens, but we're going to give financial aid? That's like saying to your child, "I'm sorry sweetie, but we just can't afford to repair or get you a new bicycle at this time" then going to the bar and buying a round of drinks for everybody.

 well Clinton didnt specify exactly what aid they would give...and its not yet been backed up by Obama...also...gotta tell you, the earthquake wasnt of the same magnitude as haiti or chilie or anything like that. I suspect it wont be financial aid they offer...its probably more moral support...to the best of my knowledge there is nothing that ties America to New Zealand particularly...if Britain as head of the commonwealth isnt going to make a move...then there is probably little reason for the US to do anything...but I'll tell you one thing...Clinton is VERRA quick to comment on ANY international issue....and she tends to make two statements...one right away as soon as news breaks...and then one later...maybe a few days which is more specific...So I expect if the US does anything at all...she will say before the end of the week...Honnestly though...Her and Ban Ki Moon have been on top form over the past two weeks...they seem to be making statements before the British Government..which is unusual...What is significant is that Obama is saying less and less. He commented on the fall of Hosni Mubarack...but thats been about it over the whole arab revolt.

On the one hand thats good...because its not his job to be the mouth piece on the public stage about international issues unless invited...that is Clintons job...however...before he lost out in the mid terms...he wouldnt shut up...he spoke about everything...BP, The icelandic volcano, welcoming new rullers in far flung parts of the galaxy et al....now...he's a little...deflated :laugh:

I support that Obama isn't speaking on the Arab revolt. Anything spoken by the President of the U.S. could be used as a propaganda by the government being overthrown. Let the revolutionists sort it out and keep our noses out of it is the way to go.
