THESE DUDES ARE MORONS!!
we should feel honored to have lived in the period when Fedor fought? Um, ok.
I guess we should also feel honored that they brought back the Mcrib.
Fedor is one of the greatest HWs ever, but how is he any better that any of the other great fighters we have seen?
I give fighters alot of crap and I joke with people alot but in all seriousness, I respect the heck out of Fedor because of his heart in the ring or cage. He trains like a beast, and can give and take like an animal, BUT, who else does that describe? AS, Matt Hughes, Jeremy Horn, (pre-Serra)GSP, Rich Franklin, (pre2009)Chuck, Randy, Gomi, Sakuraba, .............
give me a break dude. Was he great? yes.
the greatest ever? I dont think so.

JavierDLC, list the top 10 greatest Fedor fights of all time.
You Pick http://www.mmajudo.net/fedor-emelianenko.php
Here's a link to all his fights.
Fedor Emelianenko vs Kazuyuki Fujita (My Favorite)
Fujita Catches Fedor with a flush shot and Fedor does the chiken dance completely out on his feet yet comes back and beats him via Rear Naked Choke (3:47)
Fedor Emelianenko vs Kevin Randleman Kevin gets him with what I think is the best Slam in MMA history! Better than the Rampage on IMO and Fedor submits here with a Kimura.
Fedor Emelianenko vs Hong-Man Choi Fedor breaks his Arm Off with an Arm Bar
Fedor Emelianenko vs Mirko Filipović War
Fedor Emelianenko vs Antônio Rodrigo Nogueira War
Fedor Emelianenko vs Andrei Arlovski Mid Air Knock Out
Fedor Emelianenko vs Tim Sylvia Chokes him out in :40 sec
Fedor Emelianenko vs Mark Coleman RNC LOL http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-oCnqy8Klaw
Fedor Emelianenko vs Brett Rogers Beautiful Overhand Right
Fedor Emelianenko vs Heath Herring
This are some of my Personal favorites but all his fights are interesting.

according to the mma fans who are in the know(hard core), AA and TS are jokes and Mark Coleman, um OK. Brett Rogers, come on man. Heath hearing is UFC cannon fodder. HMC, yeah right.
the rest were truly great, classic fights. I have seen all of his fights as well brother. Ive been in this game for Long time. I am a Pride fan also. My point is, he isnt worthy of the dramatic hype.
BTW the slam from Randleman I thought broke his neck and for him to come back and finish Kevin was epic and the Fujita fight was one of my favs also.
I'm not hating, I'm beeing real dude. If people want to say that he is their favorite of all time, I can dig it. Even if they say that he is the greatest ever in their book. but to get like those dudes over it is LAME.
Everyone knows that Royce Gracie is the greatest of all time and if anyone says different, I'm gonna get mad and type really hard and say some mean things to people who will never see me in person.

All those people were in their prime when Fedor fought them lets not forget that. I know what you mean about Royce Gracie and the way you feel about him. I feel the same way about my favorite fighters MMA and Boxing. I wasn't aware about MMA when he was relevant so the only Royce I know is the one that got Crucified by Matt Hughes.
Fedor earned his hype just like Royce did.

LOL:happy0198:The Royce line was a joke making further fun of the dudes in the video.

People try to use the same kind of arguments about Matt Hughes and his resume, and it's just as ridiculous. You can't argue with domination and winning for all those years, even if some of the fights are against the Zuluzinho's of the world.

Look at Matt's resume and the top tier guys he fought and then look at Fedor's and there is no argument. Matt bought and beat more and better fighters. So I guess according to that way of thinking, Vitali Klitschko is the greatest HW boxer. He went just as long or longer without being beaten, except for the BS stoppage with Lewis on cuts, and Fedor had one with Big Nog so that makes it even.

Nice try brother, but you know exactly what I'm talking about.
I am not comparing Matt and Fedor's respective legacies, rather elaborating on a similar criticism. Many people say Matt has a padded record, and I've attacked those arguments for years. The same goes for people trying to put a lot of the guys Fedor has beat on blast after the fact. Everything needs context.
I'm not telling you there isn't people Fedor should have fought, or fought sooner, but it is what it is. Anything can happen in MMA, and to do what Fedor has did is no small feat. Same goes Hughes, same goes GSP, same goes for Silva.
The comparison of best HW of all time with Vitali is completely different considering Boxing has a much longer history on it's side.
Im not saying Fedor isnt great, Im just saying that the arguement for him as the best of all time is weak. The best HW, I can see that as a possiblity, but thats all. Deffinately not worthy of the religious following that he has.

He is certainly one of the best of all time at this point, but it's not like the list is that long right now anyway. At HW, I don't see how there is any argument for anybody else over Fedor. Obviously it's a matter of opinion, and just like Boxing, the deeper the history gets the more this will change and be argued over.
I definitely say Fedor is in the top 5, along with Silva, GSP, Hughes, and either Liddell or Penn.

No matter what, its is going to depend on the criteria that is used to judge. If you go by dominance in a weight class, absolutely. Total achievments, maybe. like you said, its going to come to opinion.
I have to throw Jeremy Horn's name in for one of the greatest of all time just based on his warrior spirit. Over tripple the amount of fights of the average fighter his age with a great W/L %.

I don't have any argument with Horn being one of the sports all time best, but I wouldn't put him in the top 10, and I'm not sure where I would rank him without actually sitting down and going over some numbers.
However, I am curious to ask, based on your take of Horn, where would you put a guy like Travis Fulton? He is two years younger than Horn and has a record of 245-47. He has fought a SLEW of guys who were either top ranked or champions. Granted, he lost to most of those guys, but nobody can argue that Fulton has "warrior spirit".
I remember Fulton, every time he would get to fight someone with some star power or get a fight that might take him to the next level, he would get beaten. I would give him a sure spot in history but not as one of the greatest.
Horn has fought and beaten some top names, and his other contributions to the sport are unmatched.

I agree about Horn, and your right that Fulton has never been able to step up when it mattered. I wouldn't say he is one of the greatest either, but then again, I guess what is really the "greatest"? Top 10? Top 25? Top 50? Again, going back to boxing, it's easy to make a top 50 list. But how easy is that in MMA at this point?
I am not even saying Fulton would be in my top 50, because I'd have to sit down and look at it, but I have hard time looking over somebody with 245 wins in a sport as wild as MMA. Interestingly enough, I was just glancing over Fulton's record again and I had forgotten that he took Horn to a draw, but Horn did beat him in the rematch.
BTW, I would put Vitali in the top 5 hw's ever. Above Lewis.

No...just no...
You are kidding right?
Ever?
With his combined size and chin and stupid stiff jab yes. Not talking about all around skill, if you took all of the HWs brought them together. Consider the size of the old HWs. Well maybe not top 5 but def top 10 and still above Lewis.

When you talk about old HW's who weighed under 200 pounds, it needs to be mentioned not only was that a completely different era in terms of regulation in the sport, but also that many guys still fought guys who were well over 200 pounds and just gave up the difference in weight.
I like Vitali, but I'm still not sure I put him above Lewis. It's a shame that fight got stopped the way it did.
Thats exactly what I'm saying. The size would be a HUGE issue. Lewis knew he was going to get beat. Thats why he didnt give him the rematch that he promised, in the ring, after the fight on camera. Lewis was dominant, yes and hise size advantage over opponents had alot to do with his dominance. We saw what happened when he fought someone with the same size and comparable skills. He got a little cut and kept opening it more by rubbing his braids in it. I have watched it a million times and cant see how he could feel like he was winning.

Because he wasn't winning
BUT, he won.

NO NO NO NO, you cant do that with this fight because AS pulled off an awesome comeback with his skill. Lewis got lucky that he had a bad haircut.
BIG DIFFERENCE!!!! Dont try and play it like that bro. lol
