Ok, I'm not posting this in the "Lame" thread because I think this deserves its own space. I agree that the majority of the commercials were stupid, I was blown away by this one. None of my other friends got it and I even had to explain it a little to my brother (a giant nerd like me).

First I'm just going to post vid & see if anyone else sees what I saw. There are more than a few of you on here that I think might get it, if not immediately, then perhaps with just a little prodding:

Definitely an interesting twist on the legendary Apple "1984" super-bowl commercial. Too bad they're just following in Apple's footsteps.

i didn't really like the original either, so i didn't really appreciate this one, though i knew what they were doing,

however there was one commercial i did approve of and thought was hilarious and it also had to have a little background for it to work as well, i imagine alot of people didn't get it:

Ok, NateR, lemme ask you this: was Apple just following in IBM's footsteps back then? I ask because that was "before my time" & I'm not really familiar with the backstory of that commercial, just how iconic it was.

I don't think so. But I was too young to really be following the business side of computer technology at the time. Right now Apple is leading the industry and creating entirely new markets for their products. The iPod, iPhone and iPad have completely changed the entire technology industry. Everyone else, including Motorola, is just playing catch up. That's what I meant by 'following in Apple's footsteps.'

Yeah, everyone's chasing Apple's tail now, for sure.
