Man has it been cold!!!!! Here in El Paso Tx

We haven't had Hot water for 2 days now. Our water pipes are frozen many people have lost their electricity and have no water at all.
It snowed yesterday and the day before. Schools are canceled and lots of restaurants and dinners are closed. I was watching the news right now and Daian Sawyer said we where going to be colder tonight at 7 degrees than Alaska at 17. :scared0015:

I spent most of my day at my moms today because one of her water pipes burst in the attic so her living room and my grandmas room got completely flooded.

It's crazy how New York, Chicago, Michigan and all those places get way more snow yet they are prepared. We got like 2" and our whole city stops!

Yesterday we were below zero most of the night.
It's suppose to get better tomorrow.

Ummm... I spent the day running errands on my motorcycle in jeans and a t-shirt. :)

It's a wintry mix (snow/ice) here in San Antonio right now. Roads aren't slick yet but I had to keep the windshield on full defrost when my wife and I left the movie theater.

Hopefully, there will be a little bit of accumulation overnight and I can snap some photos. Hasn't snowed here in over 30 years!

I'll be driving my wife to/from work tomorrow (25 miles away) as she doesn't have any experience driving in this type of weather.

I hope the damage gets cleared up soon, Javier. I have relatives who live in El Paso. I lived there myself for a few years. Apparently it's almost all of Texas because Houston is having snow and ice as well. That's what they get for laughing at all my snow and ice this winter and telling me how it is in the 70s all the time.

Yeah I have family in the NewOrleans area who laugh about my living "way up north in Shreveport".
So now the are getting to learn what having a snow day, excuse me "Sneaux" day is like.:tongue0011:

Javier, people tend to plan for what is most likely. Did anyone ever expect that to happen? There is hope. warmth is on the way.:)

Just made the 25 mile trip to take my wife to work. It was funny having the cops tell us to "slow down" driving 30 in a 55. We took back roads so we didn't have to deal with them, lol. 1/2" of snow, whoopdie doo! I know this isn't a big deal to most people, but it's been more than 30 years since it has snowed here in San Antonio. I posted a few photos below but if you want to see the whole album, click here:

Ok, I can't read the street signs to tell where you live. I bet I've been right there. El Paso always seems so little to me.

My Grandfather was a counselor at Irvin High School and I lived right around the corner on Roanoke. I was probably living there before you were born though. It would have been 1979-1983. I still have family that lives on the other side of the mountain. I go visit occasionally. As a matter of fact, I was out there last summer when we buried my Grandmama at the cemetery at Ft Bliss.
