what is it?

for me it is indiana jones and the last crusade. i always come back to this movie. it seems like i'm always watching it for the first time and the humor always makes me laugh. spielberg and lucas were at the top of their game for this one. it also has one of the best intro sequences ever (raiders was great movie too but i like this one even better)

The Lord of the Rings Trilogy by far....I can't pick b/t them and Wikipedia says it's one movie in 3 parts.

Airplane

I've seen that movie hundreds of times and every time I see something I missed the times before. Hilarious, groundbreaking, and full of some of the best one-liners ever spoken.

Hands down my favorite movie is Tombstone.

I've seen that movie so many times, and I can quote it like the back of my hand. The quotes from that movie are perfect for trash talking too. Val Kilmer played Doc Holliday flawlessly.

Falling Down!

Yeah, that goes on my top 5 list too, along with Full Metal Jacket.

It's hard to pick a favorite. Army of Darkness, The Ref, The Outlaw Josey Wales, etc. They're all such great movies!

I have to say Tombstone is right up there for me too, but it is hard to narrow it down to just one.

Some of my other favorites are Pulp Fiction, Nightmare on Elm Street, and The Matrix.

I know most people are expecting me to say Star Wars, but I watched it again recently and it just bored the crap out of me. I think I'm a little burned out on Star Wars right now, I've just seen the films too many times.

So, I'd have to concur with Mac on American Graffiti.

O Brother, Where Art Thou? would be another great one.

"Well ain't this a geographical oddity! Two weeks from everywhere!"

Great line, great movie, hilarious role for George Clooney.

John Carpenter's "They Live" with Rowdy Roddy Piper is another favorite of mine. I'm almost ashamed to admit it. :)

I have so many movies that I love, it's always really tough for me to narrow it down. After just glancing at my collection, the one that sticks out to me the most is Swingers. It was just really easy for me to relate to the situations, & I could definitely see myself & my friends in all the characters.

She doesn't mind having fake hair but don't you dare airbrush more flesh on her chest. She made a big fuss about a movie poster that made her look more well endowed than she is.

And Steel Magnolias was a true story. A guy wrote it about his sister. In the scene where Shelby is in the hospital in a coma, the nurses in the film are the actual nurses who took care of her when she died in real life.

Gladiator but Schindler's List is a very close 2nd.
Oh, speaking of holiday movies: Planes, Trains and Automobiles! Classic!
In that case. I like Scrooged with PTA as a 2nd placer.

Hey, I said Shooter! I love that movie, it's on my shelf right between Seinfeld Season 1 & SNL: Best of Adam Sandler!

Antwon is a phenomenal director. One of my favorite shots in any movie is when Mark's taking the practice shot at the beef stew can. When he pulls the trigger, you can see the shock wave rippling out. I don;t know why, but that has stuck with me. I love Fuqua's work.

I love his dog in the movie. Exp when glover pulls up and his partner almost pulls the gun. Then the partner has to wait outside.

But the shockwave ripple effect was a great scene but it might have been a better looking shot if it was a water mellon instead of the stew can. Just to where you could see it explode better.

Another great movie is runningscared with paul walker. Almost reminds me a lot of training day. Just to have the movie reflect that everything happens for a reason.

I'm with you on almost all counts, except for Tommy Boy. David Spade and Chris Farley had great chemistry together and Rob Lowe just about stole the show in that movie. It was just plain hilarious.

I like the westerns.

Young Guns I and II
Tombstone
Unforgiven

I also like westerns and agree that "Tombstone" and "Unforgiven" are excellent movies. I recently saw "3:10 to Yuma" (the new version with Russell Crowe and Christian Bale) and was stunned by how good it was. Surprisingly, I have never heard anybody mention this as a favorite movie. For unknown reasons, there never seemed to be much "buzz" associated with this movie. The movie was very engaging and fast-paced. Right up until the end of the movie I had no clue how it was going to end. If you enjoy westerns (or even if you don't) do yourself a favor and rent this movie.

What did you like about this movie, Michelle? I thought there was so much needless tragedy.

There are just so many good movies I don't know if I have just "one" all-time favorite: The Notebook was a really good movie. To Kill A Mockingbird is another favorite.

I love epics! My all time favorite would have to be the Lord of the Rings trilogy, but on my top list I have to include Last of the Mohicans, Braveheart, Gladiator, and 13th Warrior. A couple of "pop" movies that have to be on the list of all time greats for me have to be Top Gun & Armageddon!

Also have to give props to the Arnold & Stallone movies, lol. Me & my friends would watch those over & over when we were in high school! Predator is hands down Arnold's best to me. And the new Rambo & Rocky movies (from 2008) were so good even my mom liked them, lol.
