I like the sound the older rotary phones made when you dialed. Our friend, Nellie, had a party line at the time we moved next door to her. It did suck if you wanted to make a call, but you could listen in. :ashamed:

LOL , good video . My brother still has a Rotary phone on his kitchen wall . We always had rotarys when i was a kid . I loved dialing them to here em click . Ill still dial my brothers now and then if i walk past it lol.. It worked great until guys started using the dirt road south of him to go mudding on when it rained , they uprooted the telephone line and ripped it in half , phone company never fixed it.

Our party line had the lady down the road on it all the time. I think she was an Ozark mountain hooker. Some of ya'll will get that. Trust me, southeastern Missouri can be a scary place.....think Deliverance.

My dad still has an airplane rotary shaped phone in the basement of their house, but think it's unplugged.

Back in the day, my parents only had 2 phones, now they have 5 plus 2 mobiles...7 phones.

I only have one and I don't even want it.....

Me too. People keep calling me and expecting me to talk and stuff.  I am soooo not socially appropriate.

I still always talk on my cell phone in either the kitchen by the fridge or in the bedroom. I just recently figured out that it is because of habit from using rotary phones. That's where they always were:)

You ever heard of Poplar Bluff? It was the biggest town around and we called it "going to the city".....I lived in Gatewood. Nearest small town was Doniphan. There were 2 families that in-bred really bad. And of course the 2 families hated each other. That's where I learned to cook on a wood burning stove. And we were the only ones in the family to have indoor plumbing. True story.
