I noticed he was here earlier, PTM, but maybe it was a brief visit?

(I was on the run myself...)

Well, I hope it's love in the air AT a Star Wars convention. :) The best of both worlds.

I'm pretty sure it's work that's in the air for Nate.... I think he's working 3rd shift which can really mess up your sleep cycle...

That's part of it, but I'm also moving into a new house; but the new house has needed A LOT of work. So much of my time the last couple of months has been divided up between work, sleep and painting/cleaning/etc.

Today is the last day for me in the old house. Mark, Silverback and Brian (the guy who manages our online store) were here a couple of hours ago and they helped me get all of my furniture and most of the big stuff moved in.

Unfortunately, it might take a few days to get internet set up at the new place, I guess the phone jacks aren't working properly, so I might be completely absent from the forums for the next week or so.

Incense and Febreze are a must, but no dogs! The last renter had a dog living in the house for several months and the dog never went outside, so it treated the house like a giant litter box. There was about 5-6 inches of feces piled up throughout the house and urine soaked right through the floorboards. The last couple of months have been spent cleaning it and trying to get the urine smell out. Mark and Brian even pitched in to help get it cleaned up and provided motivation, because there were a few days when I was just ready to give up and go look for an apartment in Litchfield. Fortunately the owner took care of the mouse and flea infestations long before I first saw the house or it would have been no deal. :scared0015:

Of course, the incentive was that he would waive the deposit and first month's rent if I helped him make the house livable again.

It kind of sucks because I love dogs and would love to get one, but I'm worried that the dog will smell the residual urine odors and that will make it very difficult to house-train it.

When can I move in?! :w00t:

There is still a lingering dog odor, especially since it's been so hot; but otherwise you are welcome to visit anytime. :)

BTW, my internet is up and running now, so the "Admin-holiday" is over.

Have you tried a product from pet stores called "Nature's Miracle 3-in-1 Odor Destroyer"? Supposedly, it has enzymes that break down odor-causing proteins. I used it when our puppies had an accident and it seemed to work.

Yeah that or vinegar?! I used vinegar all over when I moved into my home. The previous owner also allowed her cats to use the house as a litter box and the smell was horrendous! But a lot of scrubbing with water and vinegar seemed to help a lot.

Oooh, I use vinegar for a lot of things. It really helps with stinky laundry. When I was married and the ex would go out to sea with the Navy on the submarine, his clothes smelled AWFUL. I'd wash them and then run a little vingear into the rinse cycle. It took the smell right out!
