The files are apparently from between 2005-2009, what they show is that as the US divided its Military force between Afghanistan and Iraq, the level of accuracy and the level of support the Military had in Afghanistan dropped significantly, over worked staff, coillition wide, made more mistakes including friendly fire of local residents.

Basically, they couldnt do their jobs properly because they were too over stretched.

It also points the finger at Pakistan and Iran as countries that are probably passively supporting the Taliban.

Washington has not denied anything, hinting infact that the withdrawal in Iraq has largely been to recover and back up those in Afghanistan, but they are justifyably extremely angry and concerned that these leaks might endanger currently serving troops.

I'm not sure who or what agency decided to release the intelligence, nor which news sources were sent it

Wikileaks...Julian Assuage....That site should be closed down, you CANT just put forty thousand military documents in the public domain whilst a war is still raging for no good reason. Which doilum doesnt realize that troops do accidently make mistakes sometimes...this has nothing to do with war crimes, and a lot to do with litterally harrassing military service personnel.
