NBC will finally made its foray into the world of mixed martial arts in September when it airs its Ultimate Women Challenge (http://www.ultimatewomenchallenge.com/) MMA reality show.
The show, which was originally scheduled to run last fall, will be hosted by Bas Rutten (http://www.cagepotato.com/bas-rutten-knows-how-tell-good-story) and model and Dancing with the Stars competitor Joanna Krupa (http://wallpapers.pupazzo.org/Sexiest%20Women%20wallpapers/joanna_krupa/joanna_krupa_2.jpg) and will feature some new (http://www.ultimatewomenchallenge.com/?p=238) and some recognizable faces in female MMA including Jackson's MMA product Julie Kedzie and American Top Team trained fighter Jessica Aguilar.

Here are the show's 16 participants:

Air dates of the show and and its time slot have yet to be announced by NBC, leading me to believe it isn't a lock for the fall, despite the website's statement claiming otherwise.

This wouldn't be the first time NBC passed on MMA programming at the eleventh hour. Last year, Strikeforce was already planning out a weekly show (http://ca.sports.yahoo.com/mma/news?slug=dm-striketv031408) for the network when negotiations broke off and never resumed.

Hopefully the show makes it to air and the ratings prompt NBC president and CEO Jeff Zucker to negotiate a deal with the UFC. He may have to talk to Dana and Co. if he doesn't want to be sued for using the word "Ultimate" (http://www.ufc.com/index.cfm?fa=news.detail&gid=2146) in the show's name, especially when it refers to an MMA-related product. I'm pretty sure Zuffa lawyers will slap an injunction on NBC pretty quickly once they catch wind of their TUF-facimile.

On the promo video they have Christy Tada's name flash up as a fighter but she's not on the list of fighters. It's at 1:06 of the video. I wonder what's up with that?

I think this show was filmed about a year or so ago, so it's possible there was a change in the line-up between then & when the promo was shot? I dunno, just guessing.

I dont mind women fighting...I dont think they should fight men though...but I actually am just not interested in watching it. I dont know why..I dont like to see a woman punched in the face...I cant help it...even if I dislike the woman, and even with it being voluntary...I just dont enjoy watching.

Suckerpunch has a woman fighter called Michelle Guterez or something like that...she's fighting soon in XFO I think...I dont know whether to cover that as a prediction or not...I dont really want to have anything to do with it...but I cant just ignore her can I :unsure-1:

I get this, I am the same except I am a woman AND I fight! I just don't care to watch women fight, I don't know why. I have been in martial arts almost 20 years but could care less about watching women. Well, except Cyborg but then I'm not sure she is a woman! :scared0011::laugh:
