This is one of the books that inspired the Pacific, a spellbinding book that rips me into two and makes my heart weep.
It also swells with pride and admiration of those who fought in those terrible wars.
This is truely a book from someone with no ego, at the very bottom, you get his bottom view of the war, which really brings it home.
for what are we all, only a few are generals etc etc
Absolutely a brilliant read, I recommend to all and would happily lend it to anyone on this message board.
Ask Dave, if I am liar?
Also have Helmet for my pillow and a book on John Basilone. I'll let you guys know
