Sorry man, until they can get a left handed bat and a leadoff hitter your boys are screwed.

Both are switch hitters, but to call Miles much of a hitter at all is a stretch. He's no where close to being a force like DeRosa was, and he's only average defensively. Good luck with that.

yeah, baseball is great ... but my man V-Dub is out for spring .. and it will be interesting to watch the yanks this year, considering they signed the entire league over the winter ...

he is a decent average hitter....315 last year, and like .290 liftetime, he just doesn't hit for power, he fits nicely how we need to use him, it just wasn't the right fit for him in the STL lineup as it could be in the Cubs lineup, Fontenot is also a lefty who can get good time at second base

While he hits for a decent average but doesn't get on base a ton and has no power. None much. He's versatile, white, and hustles, which generally allows for overvaluing, especially in Cardinalville.

I'm still in Basketball mode, which I got into late this year because the Cardinals went to the Super Bowl, but I'm not sure that the Bulls or the Suns will be making much of a run at the playoffs this season so I will probably get into Baseball mode a little earlier this year.

Either way, GO WHITE SOX!

Either way, GO WHITE SOX!Yeah, I gotta admit, I'm a little disappointed by the Suns. I thought that once we got Shaq to combat The Admiral, we'd be able to sail through the Play-Offs & get us a title. Turns out, not so much.

For some reason, I always think that "The Admiral" is Duncan's nickname. :banghead:

I've a got a good nickname for Tim Duncan, but I am not sure I should repeat here...

Besides, this is a baseball thread! :)

I will say I think Steve Kerr ruined the Suns.

What are the Cubs doing with Reed Johnson this year? I was upset that the Jays got rid of him for Shannon Stewart, who went on the DL early into the season. Personally, Johnson is a much better player then Stewart. He was decent leadoff hitter when he was playing for the Jays. With more playing time, I think he could be a strong player.

Reed Johnson really isn't that great. I like the guy, and he's fearless, but he's a fringe level player at best.

I think he can be a good backup, he's a nice little spark to add to the lineup every few days

I like him. He was a good outfielder when he was with the Jays. I believe with more playing time he could develop into a decent OF. Besides, that goatee he had going when he was in T.O. was killer

Which is another way of saying he's a fringe player. He's probably the Cadillac of fringe players.
