Oh my gosh:scared0015: It looks like two different people's legs! Can you imagine how long that's going to take to get back to normal?:scared0011:

It's why he should learn to check leg kicks. Then Aldo's shins would at least be equally sore.

Makes me think of Renzo. I wonder what his leg looked like; poor guy could hardly walk. He didn't check any of Matt's leg kicks either.

Seriously. Some people seem to think leg kick are (for some reason) something to look down on *coughcoughCECILPEOPLEScoughcough* & aren't worthy of being checked. Between Aldo/Faber, Hughes/Gracie & Rutten/Villareal, no one has any excuse to doubt the effectiveness of leg kicks now.

Not against Jose Aldo.

are you saying there is nothing he could have done to defend himself even slightly

or are you saying...he just didnt defend himself in the case of vs Jose Aldo  the latter...is quite obvious

I'm not a fighter but some research showed guys recommending to step in and counter punch if checking the kick is not an option. not really a defense but more making the leg kicks too risky.

I'm saying it's not as easy as "just check leg kicks." Aldo was setting them up good and Faber himself said he didn't see a lot of them coming.

To me, saying isn't there something he can do to avoid leg kicks is like saying, isn't there something Mike Brown could have done to not get punched by Manvil.

I wonder if we did a test, where we had a guy sprint ten yards, then had the same guy do it again after taking 3 hard leg kicks, what the time difference would be. I always thought leg kicks wouldn't be usefull in a street fight, but if you were trying to flee maybe they could be used to break away and slow the attacker if he gave chase. Just a thought
