"After careful consideration, I have decided that it is in my best interest to part ways with M-1 Global. During the time I spent under their wing, M-1 Global, as a promoter and management company, allowed me to achieve many great things. I appreciate all they have done for me. My management is [now] being taken care of by someone close to me."

That was the only thing stopping him from competing in the UFC,
please Dana, get it together.

i think he said he renewed his contract with strikeforce and plans on competing in the dream gp. plus he said he doesnt like the ufcs exclusive contracts although he wouldnt be the first fighter to cave to a ufc contract. hopefully he'll fight in the ufc by 2011

i know, that's why i did it .... i am a huge GSP fan, but i want a rematch with him and BJ just so he can embarrass him again

If Gegard goes unbeaten in 2010 I cannot imagine the UFC keeping their hands off him.

This makes me happy because I really want to see him in the UFC against top notch competition. Let's hope him and the UFC can reach an agreement sooner rather than later.

I think he could easily challenge for the lhw and mw belts immediately.

Gegard blew through Bobalu* like it was nothing, I'd love to see how he'd fair against the UFC LHWs. I mean, Renato was a gate-keeper for the UFC< so he's clearly good enough to at least hand with the Titos, Coleman, etc. & I think he could be mixing it up with the Rashads, Forrests, Nogs before too long.
