I was cracking up when I saw this yesterday. I think he may actually have a hit. If William Hung made it, this man can.

General Larry Platt: A Real American Idol

This week on American Idol, 62-year-old novelty rapper General Larry Platt (http://us.lrd.yahoo.com/SIG=116vq8fvv/**http%3A//www.generallarryplatt.com/) upstaged all the "real" singers on the Atlanta auditions episode with his instantly viral hit, "Pants On The Ground (http://us.lrd.yahoo.com/SIG=13amt9ro6/**http%3A//new.music.yahoo.com/blogs/realityrocks/301536/pants-on-the-ground-the-new-american-idol-smash/)." But Platt is not just some William Hungian TV clown angling for 15 minutes of YouTube fame. His real legacy in fact extends all the way back to the '60s, when he was a teenage crusader for the Civil Rights Movement in Georgia.

That's right: General Larry Platt isn't just a wannabe American Idol, he's a bona fide American hero. The man was even honored with his own holiday in Atlanta, Larry Platt Day (http://us.lrd.yahoo.com/SIG=1224r625q/**http%3A//www.legis.state.ga.us/legis/2005_06/fulltext/hr286.htm), on September 4, 2001, for his "priceless and immeasurable contributions to society" and "his great energy and commitment to equality and the protection of the innocent and for his outstanding service to the Atlanta community and the citizens of Georgia."

Awesome!

I think it's fine that they wear their pants half down though. It makes it easier for the cops to catch them because they can't run.
