I know we should be grateful and that Christmas is not about getting gifts . . . but, who are we kidding, we aren't always grateful . . . and some gifts are just awful. What was your worst Christmas gift (not necessarily this year) ever?

I always laugh at this one , just cant help it .

When me and Becky first got together , that Christmas , her dad got me a present . He really enjoyed his alcahol and i know 80% of the time wasnt thinking clearly and i dont really think he liked me all that much , still dont think he does lol , ohh well .

Anyways , he shows up at the door one Christmas and hands me this small item wrapped in dripping ,, yes dripping wet wrapping paper . Now , i know my way around a shop or garage and dont need to hold it to my nose to pick out the smell of wd40. The paper was pretty much falling off of it , i think he wrapped it in the car. It was an extremely rusty multi tool that i think was pulled out of the bottom of an old tool box , it was so scaled up and rusted that it wouldnt open , " the reason for the WD40" lol he had sprayed it down real quick then wrapped it hoping it would be freed up by the time he gave it to me lol.

Never did free up , now it is laying in the bottom of my tool box somewhere rusting ha ha ha.

I laugh everytime i think about it.

You are lucky Mac he gave you something, In the 26 years I was with my ex her parents never gave me nothing, they did not like me because I never drank with them, I do not consume alcohol, never did I have always had a short temper and thought it best not to make it shorter by drinking, I would always make sure everyone made it home ok. So he did think enough of you to give you a present. The best present I got from my ex was my 4 son's , the worst present the last 7 years with her.:cool::cool:

My worst Christmas gift ever was the year my mom got me about 8 wool sweater vests. I was 16 years old and I can tell you that they were the most God aweful things you've ever seen. When I refused to wear them to school she proceeded to cry until I buckled. For that whole year I wore those vests to school and had to change in the car in the parking lot when I got to school and then back into them before I got home. But she never figured it out so shhhh, dont tell her! :lookaround:

In the 8 years my oldest has been here , he has made it to our house once. And we dont live 15 minutes away , the alcahol has always been more important .

Alcoholism is a nasty disease. It was just something that I never go into, thankfully!

It sounds like it is better that he doesn't come over.

my most memorable moment was when i was first married to my ex. On her family's side, they gather around a circle and watch each person open up a gift. then they go to the next person and watch them open up one gift. they do this one at a time all around the room. Each time they got to me they would go...Ok, Todd, oh you don't have anything...oh ok!
Each and every time they would say that!
After about 20 times i was extremely annoyed.
Yes. i didn't recieve a single gift. yes i know...move to the next person.
HAHAHAHAHA

My brother and I always played pranks on each other. About 4 years ago he moved to Georgia and the Christmas before he moved I had a 5 prank streak on him and one that almost cost him a divorce. So this year he brings me 3 gifts. Not thinking about the pranks or anything I go to open the first gift and it was a bottle of air freshener, the second gift which was obvious was a roll of toilet paper and the third gift which was in a box with the plastic p-nuts on top was a turd. I reached my hand in the box and needless to say he got me. With the 3 gifts was a Christmas card with special instructions to open last was a $5.00 gift card to the dollar tree. That was a shi**y gift.

Yes I went thru that for years, the first 5, I would not even go there, then I started to go and stayed a way from everyone. Put up with that crap for over 26 years, now I am happy to say I have more then 1 ex, her and family. All those years not 1 gift from them. But I was always the one they would ask for help, and I used to eat that up.:tongue0011::tongue0011::tongue0011:

I just don't understand how some people think. My ex mother in law kept herself away from my kiddies, because she hated me for making her boy a man! She was always jealous of anyone that got near her precious womanizing son! Even now she shows her jealousy to my children they don't like her at all.. I got the last laugh though, because I raise my children with lots of love and teach them to respect others she forgot that or perhaps was never taught that. She hated me for not speaking Spanish that good. OMG my kids don't even speak it well my girl does slang, but my son says " I speak English!" lol..Yes I went thru that for years, the first 5, I would not even go there, then I started to go and stayed a way from everyone. I dont know Foxy, but I tell my boys to respect them and the 2 oldest ones wont even go over there and I never told them not to, that is their choice. Her parents just thinks that they are better then most people and I can't for the life of me get that one. Like I said I was the one they would ask for help and I would never refuse and I would have my sons help and they would always ask me, "Why", and to this day I still don't have a good answer to that.:):):)

I know what you mean.. The thing with children is they see things for themselves. My children are respectful, but they come back saying they do not like going over there. It's really weird. I used to help my ex-mother in law as well and she never appreciated it. She was impossible. She told my ex she would rather see him dead than with me. I don't know I always tell myself to not be like that when my kids date/marry. I know I won't always see eye to eye with them, but I love my children enough to keep them close and especially when I become a Grandmother one day hell or high water I want to be a big part of the kids life!!
