View Full Version : Your preferred method of Intoxication?

So uh... lets talk about our "party ways"...

Personally, I have a specific method that I entertain in order to make my night spectacular.

It usually makes most people gasp because it seems kinda harsh...

I drink 5 shots of room temperature (as in, not refridgertated!) Ice 101 (which is 50% alcohol) on an empty stomach.

This is a prescription for disaster, but it works out well for me. This is what I take to start my party nights. I don't often drink much more... and I certainly begin eating afterwards... haha.

But as the title specifies... what is your preferred method of intoxication?

I love Nigori Sake... I also like Belvedere Vodka. I hate tequila. When I do drink beer I like Coors light or Dos Equis..

There are rules to the forum set by Matt himself so I wouldn't necessarily say "anything goes."

You must not live in SLC if you are able to buy alcohol that strong.

OH. Uh... if I am breaking the rules, I sincerely apologize. Thats not my intention.

But uh... In Utah, it's the Beer that is restricted on the Alcohol content. Liquor, found in any of the State Liquor Stores, have all the Alcohol content you could hope for. Haha.

This thread is not breaking the rules but I didn't want you to think that this is a forum like other mma forums. We take great pride in this being a family friendly, Christian site.

I didn't realize that it was just beer that was restricted. That seems silly to me. Why restrict beer but not liquor? Are there State Liquor Stores in SLC too?

Amy, as a nurse, i would like to get your opinion on something!!!!

What if, someone went out and donated like a pint of blood. Could they then go out and get drunk for HALF the price, while all the while helping humanity?:)

Not sure if half the price is accurate but yes, donating blood and then consuming alcohol will make you feel intoxicated faster. Scientific experiment?

I moved to Utah when I was 16 because my parents were in the Military. I didn't even know what a "mormon" was before I moved here! Haha. But I love these guys. It's a group of the most sincerely nice people I've ever met. It's overwhelming at times!

Oops. I didn't intend on bringing up bad memories. Personally, I think the laws aren't strict enough on those who get caught with a DUI.

I'm T-Total. I havent touched Alcohol since October 1st 2003

Before then I used to drink whatever, but never that much, costs too much and I'm so large I have to drink a lot to feel the poisenous effects.

I dont Smoke, Never had done (perhaps I had a cigar once...but I didnt exactly smoke it properly, my Friend Martin gave it to me...and he's a Pharmacist  )

I dont take Drugs...well, I am on permanent Medication. I have been since April 2003. I took Beta-Blockers till June, Prochlorperazine Maleate til November, and from December 5th to Present day Sertraline Hydrochloride.

But I dont think that counts...the side effects are not things you'd do for fun...let me tell you that for certain...you dont find many on Sertraline, because its so nasty...they usually put them on Prozac...less side effects...unless you believe it pushes people to suicide...I dunno...I've never tried that. Prozac, that is

I rarely drink to get drunk. In fact, I rarely drink. However, on the very rare occasion that I choose to get drunk, tequila (usually in Margaritas) is my preferred method.

At a party, I prefer a buzz to drunk. Have a good time without the spins and morning headache.

Congrats. I think you have more self control with this than I do. If I go two week ends without one night of drinking... I get a little irritated. Haha.

I have never drink alcohol and one question that I have asked over the years is why do you do it, I have never recieved a good response, most of the time I ask when they are on all fours buying a buick, maybe that would not be the time to ask. So I will ask now, why?

The first time I did it, it was because of peer pressure. Haha. After refusing two years in a row, I finally decided I'll give it a try.

Exactly. Lowers inhibitions so you're more likely to cut loose and have a good time. As long as you don't go overboard, it can be a really good time. The trick is to learn your limit and don't exceed it.

Right now I'm finishing my 2nd beer. I like Jack Daniels and Coke or Jack and water. Johnny Walker white label is good too. Tequila is a fun drink, though it makes my one drinking friend violent so we rarely drink Tequila. I don't drive drunk so when I do drink when I'm out, I plan for a detox time or take a cab.

Nothing like having a six pack or two while hanging with a friend playing Madden NFL and listening to some good music.

What occurred on the last day of September, 2003?:unsure-1:

:ninja: always the Astute one!

Actually the occurance took place on the 1st itself. I shall explain. I had left university that Summer with some bizzare symptoms. I had seen medical specialists, eight, in total, that told me nothing was wrong. After starting on Prochlorperazine, I discovered that the symptoms abated. During that point I was selected to begin in the Saint Paul's Cathedral Lay Community. I moved down on the First of September, and began work as a Virger on September 4th.

One thing a Virger does is lead processions. In big insitutions like Saint Paul's these are carefully choreographed, both in terms of route, destination, but also time. As well as that these Processions must happen in a particular order according to the Liturgical Importance of the people in the Procession. The more important, the Further back in line you walk.

Anyway, so Saint Paul's Has a Number of Daily Services, one is The Office of Choral Evensong. Which is usually in the Quire. But this was a Special Evensong. It was an Annual Invite for The Worshipful Company of Muscians to visit the Cathedral. Due to this, the Service was longer, and the Congregation so much larger, the Office was held under the Dome, rather then in the Quire.

So the Choir had to be led by myself, to a makeshift Stage set up next to the Dome Dais Altar. The Cross and Acoyltes on the Other hand...and Chapter, still wanted to sit in the Quire...because there is no Quire Screen in Saint Paul's they can still just as easily be seen from there as sitting on chairs under the Dome.

It did however mean that the Procession out would be tricky. I would lead out the Choir from the makeshift stand, I would walk and turn infront of the Dome Dais, where the Cross and Lights would slip in between me and the Choir, because they were coming down from behind the Dome Altar on the Dais.

Horrible, Horrible Timing. The Cross and Lights were too slow, the Choir left no space for them, and the liturgical order was ruined during the recessional when I turned too soon, the Cross and lights attempted to slip in but the Choir barged infront, so then the Cross and Lights were waiting for ages, looking like a pair of bloody sugar dumplings, before following the Choir.

A Minor Mistake. Noone in the Congregation would have known outside of a deeply devouted Anglo-Catholik who was paying attention at just the right (or from my position, Wrong) time. BUT The Clergy of course realized. They were nice about it. But I felt reallllllly bad. It was my first (and by no means my last, or even worst) mistake.

So I drank more then I'd ever drank before that night...and being intoxicated is VERY similar to some of the symptoms I had...and that delicate ballence of mind over matter, Prochlorperazine Placebo thing, collapsed. The symptoms returned in full force.

I swore I would never touch Alcohol again EVER. I stopped swallowing it at Communion (it didnt even touch my lips) and then I stopped receiving Communion all toghether for other reasons...and have never received since. Being as that was the only possible time I might consume bearly a drop, I have never touched it since.

I always decide to play Halo when I'm drunk, which is always a mistake because I play at a relatively high level online.... and I always get pooped on when I drink... I never learn. Haha.
