We don't know whether we'll ever see a fight between BJ Penn and Kenny Florian, but if they do collide, Florian will be training with the man that dominated Penn:

Also slated to make his way down to the "Beautiful Province" for training is Team Sityodtong member Kenny Florian, who looks to benefit from a full training camp with Zahabi and St-Pierre before taking on Penn for the lightweight title later this year.

Florian and Penn is a fascinating fight because we don't know what to expect from BJ. He could come out extremely hungry and ready to prove a point, or he could be a shell of his former self following such a devastating loss.

Florian doesn't have the power or wrestling to implement the same strategy St. Pierre did, but I expect that GSP has a lot of other things to share with Florian about his experience fighting Penn. Among the more important points St. Pierre has made is Penn's inability to deal with body attacks and his weaker core. Perhaps a gameplan oriented around body kicks could lead Florian to victory. Florian did an excellent job using body attacks to keep Joe Stevenson and Roger Huerta off balance.

Smart move I guess, apparently GSP knows what to do.

BJ pissed me off so bad in his fight with GSP I am actually wondering if Florian might give him some trouble. Before I would never have even considered it but now I don't know. I am sure that BJ will still win it though. GSP basically steamrolled BJ, and Kenny won't be able to do that.

tough fight for BJ. florian has been waiting for this moment his whole career and will BJ be motivated as much as florian is motivated?

i see him dancing around BJ and using his leg kicks for 25 minutes. it will look similar to his fights with huerta and stevenson except he won't try to take BJ to the ground

I think BJ knocks Ken-Flo out.

I could see that. BJ might have to rush in on Kenny to do damage.

Kenny can be pretty elusive, and he has those nasty elbows in the clinch. I wonder how 1 or 2 huge cuts on BJ's face will affect him.

I see BJ having problems with Ken especially if he is not all there mentally.

Here is my 2 cents.

IF BJ shows up in great condition and mentally on top of the world, I would give BJ the edge of 80% chance of winning.

If BJ shows up in less than great shape and mentally unfocused, or takes Ken lightly then I would give Ken 65% chance of winning.

Bj takes this one ... but que is right in that he is coming off a fight where he was planning to win and retire .... so will the motivation be there??? i really think to beat BJ you gotta negate his boxing ... kenflo is good in the clinch, but can he dictate the fight to be there? I think BJ wins, but it won't look as easy as the Joe Daddy fight

The old stick and move, leg kick plan? Didn't work out so well for AA, although I do believe that Florian would be much more diciplined in executing his gameplan, but I still think that BJ eventually subs or tko's Ken-Flo. I don't really like Penn all that much, but I really doubt BJ has two weak outings in a row. Training with GSP isn't going to make Florian 25-30 pounds bigger or stronger, so I'm not sure how that translate's into being very much of an advantage.

I'm sure we'll start hearing some words from kenny to egg BJ on. I see Kenny being a good match but I think he'll go in slightly intimidated by BJ. However he did beat Daddy much easier than BJ did. I think Kenny's length will cause some problems

I hope ken-flo wins just to smite bj. I've never been a big fan of either of them but bj talks too much trash and hasn't backed most of it up.

That would set up a good rematch if diego beats jo daddy. Now that they would both be at the weight class they should have always been at.

BJ will never recover after the beating GSP gave him.

Kenny will finish him, then BJ will retire.

Great move. It will just add to his already great training. Notice how BJ Penn never does this.

Kenny doesn't have 30 pounds on BJ. Kenny doesn't have any wrestling skills, he isn't as strong as BJ. come on, Kenny Florian is overrated. BJ is at his best at 155. he moved up to 170 because he knows no one at 155 can beat him.

"he's on drugs." _Lauzon on Kenny thinking he can beat BJ.

Cant wait to see Bj run his mouth then get owned again.

Hopefully he does give up and quit after getting owned by the flo.

"I think he’s on drugs. Kenny trained in Hilo before I did and I got to talk to a bunch of guys out there to see what they thought I did compared to what he did. From what I understand, Kenny didn’t like to spar or do any type of kickboxing because he didn’t like getting hit. BJ and everyone over there was beating him up on his feet and on the ground? There’s no way. BJ won the world championships without having a single point scored on him. In my fight against Kenny I did a thousand-a million times better than I ever did on my best day against BJ.”

OMG, BJ killed Kenny, LOL

This goes along perfectly with the accusations that Penn is making about Florian tipping him off in an email that GSP would be greasing. So Kenny would tip off BJ and then go train with the guy he is snitching on....riiiiight.

Kenny just needs to survive the first 2 rounds in this fight and I think he can take it. Tough fight but I think Florian has a good chance. He's definitely hungrier than Penn.

I also love how if Penn beat GSP he was going to retire but now he'll fight "10 more years". This guy is not right in the head.

I realize this is a sarcastic statement, but one thing fans should not forgot. Whether GSP knew what his corner had intentionally or unintentionally done, his dominance can not be denied. I don't think any of GSP's fights would have been different if vaselien was not allowed in the ring. There is no proof about HGH and he already tested clean for steriods.

I am a GSP fan, and am on the fence about how much he knew or his corner knew, until a full investigation by the NSAC is complete. But, nobody at all should deny that he may go down as one of the dominant fighters the UFC has ever seen.

The key word there is think. We will never know though, will we? It makes it all the sadder that he probaly would have won anyway. So, the cheating was for naught but doubts and scandals.

How much his corner knew? They were only verbally warned the first time. The second time the redcoats came in to the ring and kicked the vaseline jar. Well, okay, maybe they didn't get it.

Yeah, the thing is will people get passed this and look at his future performances now and believe that it is/was fair. Well there always be a doubt? He is a really good speciment of what you want a fighter to be, but has this incident ruined it.

If he has ruined it, he still may be on top for a long time......................and for upcoming fighters, he will still be a roadblock in the ww division for the next 5 years at least, which is scary.

HE is ONLY 27

What about THIS from Sherdog. See how yukki :Penn can be to people who have trained with him and going to the media afterwards...I think I said Penn would be like that.

Penn, who’s been nursing his wounds since his four-round loss to welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre at UFC 94 on Jan. 31, expressed surprise that Florian planned to train with the French Canadian fighter, claiming that Florian had previously contacted Penn to warn him of St. Pierre’s proclivity to “grease up” before fights.

Penn dropped the bombshell statement during his first sit-down video interview since UFC 94 on BJPenn.com.

“That is kind of surprising to me because Kenny is actually the guy who tipped us off that GSP was going to be greasing,” said Penn. “He actually e-mailed me and tipped me off.”

Florian, who once trained with the popular Hawaiian fighter in his homeland, seemed flabbergasted by Penn’s assertion.

“I’ve never emailed a fighter about anything like that. I don’t even have B.J. Penn’s email,” a puzzled Florian told Sherdog.com on Tuesday. “I’d love to see that email. I would say print that email and show it to everybody. Where’s this mystery email?”

Florian, 32, also dispelled any possibility that the two had exchanged the alleged information by other means.

“I haven’t spoken to B.J. -- besides ‘hello’ -- since January of 2007,” he said. “I’ve never trained with [St. Pierre] in the past. I have no motive in saying that. Even if I knew, would I say that? I know of other fighters who have [greased] and I don’t say anything to anybody.”
Florian suggested that Penn “feels threatened” by the fighter’s intentions to train with St. Pierre, and described the Hawaiian’s comments as “a mind game.” Florian hopes to join the multi-talented 170-pound king in Montreal sometime in March.
