Figured I would start a thread on this because I know i aint the only hunter in these parts.

I have been watching this same doe every time I go to this stand and this morning she caught me in the right mood and I lets the G5 Tekkan II Do Work!!!

I shot her at 27 yards, she was quartering hard away. When the arrow passed through, I heard a loud thump. I didnt really care but it stuck in my mind. I watched her go down about 55 yards from where I shot her. When I got down and went to the spot I had shot her to find my arrow, it was not there. I was bending over looking and when I turned my body to look to the right, something poked me in the side of my face and it was my arrow, stuck in the stump on the other side of the deer. That was the thump I heard. I took a pic of it so you could see.

The deer weighed 116lbs, not a bad doe for this area. I know that is a baby where you guys are used to hunting, but not here. See that DXT, its baaaadd baby!!

Way to go, Rev! You guys should post some hunting & trail cam pics!! I messed up a disc in my lower back grappling a month ago and can't do much of anything, so I am having to hunt vicariously through others, so show me some pics & put up some hunting stories!! I will be in spinal decompression therapy, PT, and massage therapy for about 6 more weeks and I can't even draw my bow back, much less grapple or work. If y'all don't post some pics pretty soon, I'm just going to have to start posting pics of my trophy bucks from past seasons to show everyone up and inspire you to hunt harder! Lol!

OK.. dumb question... but are you saying the arrow passed completely through the deer and was still going fast enough to stick in a tree stump?????:blink:

I think that's what you're saying... and IF that's true... I had NO IDEA the arrow had that much velocity!!!!!!!!!

Arrows normally go straight through deer without losing much energy unless they his bone or enter the deer at some odd angle. Surprisingly, an arrow will go through a sand bag where a bullet will not!

Awesome .. I am some kind of noob though .. because like Chuck, I didn't know that arrows would go clean through like that ... daaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyymn ...

Dang shawn! you should have called me. I am gonna have to get up there and see ya. I just hung another stand today on some swamp land with some BIG sign. Pumped about it and will keep you updated. I have been pretty busy and havent been able to go alot but when I do go I have seen deer every time but no bucks in range.

Matthughesrocks, what do you mean baby? that is a good size doe for this area!! and of course I am going to eat her!! I already ate the backstraps.

Do you have any game cam pics? I haven't even planted anything this year, and am not in on a lease. It's probably gonna be a slow season for me. Heck, last year all I got was one deer and a bear. Boy that bear meat was awesome!! I still have some and usually cook it up when I throw a UFC party. Here are a couple of pretty cool game cam pics I have gotten in the past:

My husband got his first buck with the new bow I got him for his birthday. 8pt--decent size, but scraggly looking rack...

I'm out of my mind sick and fevered so I was unconscious when he was cleaning it--not sure if he took pics or not-I'll have to check...
