View Full Version : Not Kos, not Daley, not Hallman Who next?

I've read the other threads about Kos, Daley, and Hallman.

I get the arguments for Hallman and Daley as it wouldn't advance him to a title shot.

Who do you think Matt should face in the WW division next? Who WILL advance him?

I pick swick.

Dude was next in line if he beat Kampmann. Could fight match up for Matt and Swick is legit in the division.

I think fat boy Thiago Alves would be a good one.

He just fought Thiago. I was against the whole Franklin vs Hendo 2 for the same reason and another win for Thiago (if he managed to get through Matt again) wouldn't do anything for Thiago either.

It's a secret. :ninja:

Well duh.And he lost. That's why he needs to fight him again. I want to see Matt beat his ass this time.

There is no way that Matt would move down to 155.

I hope he gets the winner of Swick/Hardy...either one is a good match-up for Matt.

Even though he just lost, what about Martin Kampmann?

I don't want Hughes to fight Alves again. Hughes is my favourite fighter but I don't want to see him knocked out cold again. I think he should fight Hallman, he does have two losses he should try and avenge.

Wow, you really are just completely ignorant of Matt's record aren't you. Are you sure that you are a Matt Hughes fan?

The last time Matt lost by KO was in 2001 against Jose Landi-Jons and Matt wasn't knock out cold at all. His loss to Thiago "I'm not even going to try to make weight becuase I took too many steroids" Alves was a TKO, not a KO.

Again, do some research because I'm almost embarrassed for you.

With Swicks talk recently I'd have thought he was next. I like to think of Matt moving forward though not fighting past opponants (BJ, Thiago, Serra, ect) "Keep moving forward!!"

no matter who's next, I'm excited to see what happens

I think it all depends on what Matt/UFC are wanting from eachother. I'm not sure if this is gonna be Matt's last contract or not so that may play on some of the choices too.
He could just go after ppl who he's never fought before and would be interesting matchups for him.

I'd like to see Matt vs Swick or Kampmann. I think that would get him back in title contention, but does Matt want to fight GSP again? Seems kinda like the Anderson Franklin status.

but does Matt want to fight GSP again?I'm pretty sure I recall an interview where Matt said he'd like a 4th shot to make the record even.

I know it probably won't happen, but I'd love to see Thiago Alves actually fight Matt weighing 170(1), as opposed to offering up some bs excuse about an injured ankle that prevented him from making weight, but not from fighting. My realistic guess is Swick, that guy has been talking a lot, and if he's (he being Swick) going to be in the title picture, it's time for a step up in competition, imo

The ufc has already established that the winner of swick/hardy is getting a title shot so it wont be either of them... It should be koscheck in my opinion to face matt next... I hope the ufc approaches matt with that fight

I still think it will be Anthony Johnson for some reason or at least see them offering Matt that fight.

He dropped down to the smaller shows to get his game together. He's 4-1 since leaving the UFC, including a victory just this past Saturday.
