Whooeee! Jon Madsen from Team Rashad put a crater in Rampage's fighter's head. Amy would love it! :w00t:

Yeah, Jon Madsen from the HIT Squad! :punch::punch::punch: Dana said that was the bloodiest fight ever in TUF.

Rampage and Rashad hate each other! Things are going to get ugly.

I guess I should have started a thread about this instead of talking about it in the thread that was started for Jon Madsen, lol.

Jon did a great job against Abe. That was a bad matchup by Rampage for sure. The cut on Abe's foreward was nasty and he lost alot of blood.

Yes!!!! I wanted to stick my finger in it and touch his skull. That cut will be a nasty repair, it'll take layers of stitches and will scar for sure.

War Jon Madsen!!! At least he's fought now and can just concentrate on training for semis!!

Really the blood always looks like a lot but it isn't near as much as you'd think. He lost maybe what you'd donate at the blood bank. Easily replaceable by his body with no ill feelings after a cookie and some juice.

Pretty much how I thought that fight would go...boring, boring, boring. John Madsen did a lot of lay & pray, but he sure made some of those shots count!

Abe Wagner had the deepest cut I've ever seen in MMA though. Looked like he hit his head on a steel i-beam!

An interesting side note, Madsen beat Brock Lesnar in a high school wrestling match.

Mannnnn at the end of the show i thought i was watching an advertisement for a slaughter house , but it turned out to be a close up of Abes cut .

Madsen did just what he needed to , all in all a good fight , think it has the makins of a good season .

Oh I'm sure it looked worse then what it was...but it was nasty either way lol

I think the cut itself was worse then the blood lost....

rampages team is doomed. and its pretty much rampages fault. he picks the fighters he gets along with rather than the best guys and he picks the most stupid matchups a coach could pick. i laughed when he said "submit him" to abe during the fight. i was like wow really haha

Holy Moly, Amy! I think you could probably get at least three of your skinny fingers in that canyon hole! Did you hear him ask the doc if it was going to hurt right before the big needle was going in? The bigger they are the harder they cry.

Abe seemed like a nice guy.

Yeah, Abe seemed like a nice guy but he had no takedown defense ready for what came at him. It was a bad matchup for him. He didn't have a chance. Big men are the whiners when it comes to needles. I have had more men pass out on me with blood draws than women. It does hurt when the needle goes in but the lidocaine hits the nerves and the cut goes dead almost immediately. So it's a small pain.

Great night of fights all around & I loved watching Jon destroy Abe's face. That's one guy we can be sure won't be coming back as an alternate! Seriously, if you expect to be a fighter but are terrified of a pain-killing shot, you're in the wrong line of work. I'm so pissed that he wasted a slot in the house that someone who wanted to win could have taken. I've got nothing against guys who have full-time jobs outside of MMA (e.g. Shane), but if you refer to that as your "real life", as though MMA is a fake fantasy or something, then you should be trying to make it in the UFC. Get out & make way for REAL fighters.

So, west coaster me just finished watching and everyone else has gone to bed :irked:

I actually liked it from the second it started and that hasnt happened since TUF 1 ( I missed season 2) I think it helps that I don't really care if Jackson or Evans wins, neither one is in my top 20....anyway, the fight was awesomely bloody but boring as hell. I did get a good laugh out of Rampage having his fit " there he goes again! He just keeps doing the same thing over and over!!"

I definitely like Rampage a lot more than Rashad. However, Rampage doesn't seem to be a very good coach. Picked Kimbo first - duh! Bad matchup and his advice from the corner was pretty useless. "Get up". "You gotta do something."

I'm pretty sure Edwin "Baby Face" DeWees had the bloodiest fight on TUF ever. His head was pouring like a faucet and he actually won the fight.

O man, I had forgotten about that fight!

To be honest, I think Rampage thinks in terms that are 2D. "O, you're bigger than him? You're gonna win!"

It's really impressive looking at how huge all his team members are, but if they all fight like Abe did, then he's in for an extremely frustrating season, & judging by the way he went after that door & then got in the contestant's face, it seems fair to say that this is going to be the case.

As much as I hate Rashad, I am stoked to see Greg Jackson on a TUF. What I'd really like to see eventually is to have a "Dellagrotti vs. Jackson" or "Laimon vs. Miletich" season - let the people who are actually known for their coaching of fighters be in charge. I mean, Forrest basically said all he was going to do in his season was be their training partner & let his assistants do the coaching. Rampage is a nice guy & hysterical to watch, but he doesn't seem to be that helpful for his guys. The best coaches have always been the ones that have experience actually being in charge of training back at their home gyms: Matt, Dan, Chuck, Randy, Tito, TUF 4 sarah, Nog, Pulver, etc.

Agreed.
I wasn't too keen on Dana's big announcement and it being Kimbo, hes such a freakin' hyprocrite..He put a huge target on Kimbo's head with the other fighters, unless that what he wanted. I almost laughed when Big Country actually thought he was the big announcement :)
Think Im gonna enjoy Wes Sims weirded out comments and should be refreshing..Plus I think the house drama should be at minimal with these guys seeing to be more mature than previous seasons.

* I will say I don't think Rampage is a good coach, and Rashad definately has the advantage of having Greg Jackson helping him out. If Rampage was smart he would of picked one of Rashades boys first just to piss of Rashad, but noones adimitting Rampage is smart.

Like you or someone else said he had no defensive answer to nullify the takedown. With Abe being so tall with those long legs, he should have used his knee when Madsen was coming in for the takedown; or else sprawl. It didn't look like Abe had a lot of experience just watching him even though his stats showed him having fought more than Madsen. Just my take on things.

Mazi stood them up like two-three times so it's not like he didn't have a chance to try something then. By then he should have known Madsen was going to keep going for the takedown. Rampage did...

no matter how high pitched serras voice is he is by far a better coach than rampage. he gives good advice that you can actually apply and he really cares about his teammates.

Well I think Rampage kinda sucked for that fighter cause it was on the ground 99.9% of the time. An we all know Rampage is lost down there.

Besides what was there to coach, We all knew he was going to shoot to a GnP. That off wasn't prepared for that or anything else. I blame Dana for picking a huge list of retards every year.

This past week I was more impressed by Abe's lack of skill & 'Page's lack of cornering than I was by Jon's technique or Rashad's cornering. Let's be 100% honest, Jon wasn't exactly the second coming of Brock Lesnar. Nice takedown & good control on the ground, but other than that I saw nothing. No attempted stand-up (so I suppose it might actually exist at a high level, but I'm guessing not), so attempts to pass the guard (guessing his jits ain't that good), & not even any shocking GnP. He landed 1-2 awesome elbows in the whole fight. Other than that he'd bear-hug him on the ground, then pop his head up, cock an arm back, pose for 10sec & then throw a punch into Abe's shoulder as though he was blind to the fact that his ribs were left wide open.

I really hope Jon was just trying to shake out the first-fight jitters & that we see more from him in the semis, or I don't expect to see him progress too far.

I think your take on Jon is fair, Ben, but I'm gonna call you on the rib thing. Didn't you see him knocking his right fist into Abe's ribs quite a number of times? I'm thinking he needs to work on cardio too. IMHO :)

OK, so he did it every now & then, but usually only when he was laying on top of him. It was a "Hey look, ref, I'm still working down here. I'm not gassed & trying to catch my breath!" Whenever he postured up, he was tunnel-visioned on Abe's face.

Other than that, thanks for agreeing with me!!:happydancing:

Watching this fight reminds me that I have been spoiled with fighters that have great cardio, those guys looked worn out just going into the second round. I agree Rampage hasn't shown he is the smartest couch so far, maybe he will luck out atleast a bit so the matches are somewhat competitive. As far as choosing that matchup, it may not have been the smartest, but in all reality, there is no one to blame but Abe Wagner. I mean for reals, I thought they pick guys that are fighters, I could have done a better job(literally).

10 points for Jon Madsen, well done.
A little boring, but he got the job done.

Rampage doesn't seem to be a great coach.
