Thought there would be some local folks looking for something to do over labor day weekend so i thought i would post this here.

We are having a benefit for my Niece Anna on sept 5th at our farm . Me and my brother are going to have the smoker fired up and cooking , live dj , raffles , auction etc . All kinds of good stuff and plenty to eat. You can read the full story here in the article that came out in the local paper.

Here is a breakdown of her disease http://digestive.niddk.nih.gov/ddiseases/pubs/hirschsprungs_ez/

Anyone that wants to attend you can pm me your phone number or ill give you mine so you can get better directions.

Mac I can't believe I just saw a case like your niece's on Mystery Diagnosis a few weeks back. It involved a baby boy who went undiagnosed for several years until one doctor saw him and immediately suspected Hirschsprung. Like your niece they removed the tail-end of the colon that did not have the nerve cells, etc...

I felt so bad for his mom because she kept taking him to the doctor(s) and hospital but getting no help for her poor baby. But finally this one doctor suspected immediately that it was Hirschsprung and it was.

I'll keep Anna in my prayers.

It was forcasted to be clear and sun shine

so naturaly it rained all day . And we were having it outside at my folks place , But it did break for a bit in the afgternoon . We cooked enough food for 500 people and had about 200 or so show up . Her first initial tests when we get there are going to cost 16,300 dollars . We made it just past the half way mark at the benefit so despite the rain it was a huge success.

are they waiting for the money before they can do the tests? what's the hold up on them if it isn't the money.

dang i'm playing lotto tomorrow night. i hate to hear of a little innocent kid suffering. if i was a millionair i'd probably break myself trying to help people like this!

We wont wait for money to get the fix . Itll happen one way or another .

She got up to springfield the other day for the first time in a long while and they dialated her . SO its helping out right now . Her trip to cinicinatti is in a week or so , Im not 100% positive on it be cause they have changed it on her a couple times.

Theyve operated on her here now i dont know how many times and have not been able to fix the problem . The last surgeon has left her full of scar tissue , the doctor in ohio is a specialist and it is sounding really good that he is going to be able to fix the last screw ups . Illinois is not funding her in ohio so we gotta go this route .

A big THANK YOU for all the well wishes and prayers . It means alot.

Keep us posted on what they are going to do to her. It breaks my heart to hear a small child suffering so bad. I couldn't even imagine having to go through that with one of my kids. She is lucky to have such a caring family.
