Etta James is not a fan of Beyonce -- or President Barack Obama.

"You guys know your president, right? You know the one with the big ears? Wait a minute, he ain't my president, he might be yours, he ain't my president," James told fans during a Seattle concert last week.

"You know that woman he had singing for him, singing my song -- she's gonna get her a-- whipped. The great Beyonce...But I can't stand Beyonce," she added. "She has no business up there, singing up there on a big ol' president day...singing my song that I've been singing forever."

Obama and wife Michelle shared their first dance to Beyonce's rendition of the classic tune.

See what celebs wore to the Inaugural balls.

James' son, Donto, told the New York Daily News that Beyonce's Inaugural ball performance "was great" earlier, though.

"She's gotten emotional, just like everybody else. ... She was honored," he said.

Beyonce also plays James in Cadillac Records. The pair were all smiles posing at the November premiere of the flick.

I have Etta's CD At Last and I think it has to be one of the best records of all time. This kind of thing bothered me when Bush was president so I guess I should say that it isn't right for her to say that about Obama. But as far as Beyonce goes I agree with her. At least she didn't do what Billie Holliday did. Someone sung her song so she called her and told her she would kill her if she did it again.:punch:

Wow...

"At Last" is a great song, but somebody sounds pretty bitter about not being invited to sing on "big ol' president day"....

my 2 pennies... :)

From what I have heard Etta's voice is pretty bad now. Plus she is not nearly as hip as Beyonce and Obama. I doubt she has even been on Oprah.

It's not even her song, she didn't write it, she sang it......she has no rights to the song.

In the grand scheme of things.....it doesn't really matter. http://www.raiderfans.net/forum/images/smilies/2007/1wacky.gif

Yes it does. Etta James is one of the greatest singers of all time. Beyonce is a trashy ho that should be serving Etta french fries next time she goes bowling. This is serious stuff here.

Didnt watch it, didnt care...but youre right, it was wrong of James' to say that, (even though she'll be the only "celebrity" to not like Barrack) which I know she only said that out of bitterness.
