It’s been rumored for a while but TUF 10 is stocked with tough fighters. A recent Sun reports confirms a lot of the fighters in the house are pretty talented. A former IFL champion, several NFL players, and UFC veterans are in the house this season. Without further adieu, ladies and gentleman the next cast of the The Ultimate Fighter.

KIMBO SLICE: The YouTube phenonmenon and former Elite XC headliner will be the main attraction in the new season. UFC president Dana White has continually derided the 35-year-old, claiming “he would get killed in the UFC”. It will be interesting to see if the UFC supremo is proved right.

ROY NELSON: Boasting a 13-4 MMA record, the 32-year-old is a former Elie XC fighter who is perhaps best known for being knocked out by Andrei Arlovski last October.

WES SIMS: Formerly on the UFC roster, the 29-year-old was cut after just one year in the promotion in 2004 after losing three successive fights to Frank Mir (twice) and Mike Kyle.

MARCUS JONES: Former NFL defensive end for Tampa Bay Buccaneers between 1996 and 2002. Occasional guest on the popular American radio show Bubba the Love Sponge. Trained in MMA for over two years.

MATT MITRIONE: Another ex-NFL player, debuted as a rookie in 2002 for Minnesota Vikings. Very little MMA experience but trains with highly-regarded UFC heavyweight Jake O’Brien.

WES SHIVERS: NFL veteran and a late call-up to replace fellow pro-footballer Rex Richards. Very confident of winning the whole thing. Speaking last year, he bragged: “The only reason I have six fights now is because we have trouble finding opponents. One fight in particular, I had four opponents back out on me in a two-week period of time.”

JIM YORK: Nicknamed “Big”, York shares one thing in common with Kimbo - he too beat Britain’s James Thompson. The 33-year-old New Zealander emerged victorious from their Sengoku 7 clash after KO’ing the Englishman in the opening round of their March clash.

JUSTIN WREN: At 22 years old, The Viking is one of the youngest contestants on the new series. He has a 6-1 MMA record and trains with UFC star Travis Lutter’s Brazilian Jiu Jitsu team.

MIKE WESSEL: The Ohio native has already fought in the UFC, losing to Antoni Hardonk via TKO at UFC 92 in the second round of their Las Vegas clash. However, it should be noted that Wessel only took that fight on a week’s notice, and UFC president Dana White was impressed enough to offer him a four-fight deal and place on season ten of TUF for his effort.

SCOTT JUNK: Another fighter with previous UFC experience. The 30-year-old lost via heel hook in the opening round of his UFC 72 bout against Hungarian Christian Wellisch in September 2007.

ZAK JENSEN: Boasts a 7-3 MMA record and noted for his strong wrestling ability. Has suffered defeats to fellow TUF alumni Brad Imes and Mike Whitehead.

DARRILL SCHOONOVER: An impressive 10-0 MMA record sets the big Texan apart from the rest of the cast. The 23-year-old is an early favourite to win the series and UFC contract.

BRENDAN SCHAUB: Has fought in MMA for over two years but little is known about his ability. A 4-0 record suggests he has raw skills but his lack of experience may count against him.

JON MADSEN: Part of legendary UFC welterweight Matt Hughes’ stable but only has one MMA fight to his name - a KO win over Cody Griffen earlier this month.

TOM BLACKLEDGE: British MMA enthusiasts may already be familiar with Blackledge - he fights out of the Wolfslair in Widnes. He will be hoping to repeat the success of Michael Bisping by winning the series, but his 8-6 record suggest the odds may be against him.

ABE WAGNER: Big Nebraskan holds a 6-2 professional MMA record and could be the surprise package of this season.

we already knew most of these people would be on the show but now its official!

He was the madman that stomped on Mir!

I was very glad when Mir smashed him in the return.

YEAH!!!!

JON MADSEN: Part of legendary UFC welterweight Matt Hughes’ stable but only has one MMA fight to his name - a KO win over Cody Griffen earlier this month.Fiore was talking in Vegas about Jon being close to getting on the show! Apparently he's a pretty cocky SOB, but he's good nonetheless.

I can't believe I am saying this, but for some reason I actually might watch this season.......

Damn you Spike TV and UFC! Putting Evans and Jackson together as coaches is just too much too resist! :arrowthruhead:

Who am I kidding though, I can never keep up with my favorite TV shows. I'm too busy working, surfing the net, or watching the news.

Definitely WAR Jon Madsen!

they decided not to have the 32 man elimination this time. i think that part of it is because there is not enough talent out there at heavyweight and because they want kimbo to stay on the show.

They got at least one real fighter on the show this year! Maybe even more!

Bout time! Hopefully it will be like this season as far as not so much foolishness but with more talent.

"Scott Junk" - Great name. I'm rooting for him just because of all the jokes that can be made with his name.

yeah, I remember reading an interview with Lashley, and he said he wanted to be on the next HW TUF show. I think he even said his "people" were "making it happen".

I am very interested in the upcoming TUF 10. Not just only to see Rashad and Rampage exchange words, but believe it or not, I am actually interested in seeing if KIMBO has improved since his time away from EliteXC, and how he will improve by the end of the show. He will most likely get on the fight card for the finale if he makes it to the finals or not. It seems Dana has been putting these guys up against each other, except for the ones that quit and don't want to fight on the show when it's their turn. He does not have to win TUF to become part of the UFC, Dana has signed many fighters that did not win the show. He said "the only way Kimbo Slice will ever get into the UFC is if he goes throught TUF". He never said that he has to win, I would think that no matter what the outcome, as long as Kimbo does not quit, he is a shoe in on the UFC roster. Dana knows he can make money off of his name and it seems to be all he cares about.

Everyone looks at this from a fans p.o.v. and bashes Dana. As fans we should be thanking Dana for all he has done for our sport. He gives us the fights we want and brings entertainment. It could be like boxing where 2 guys couldnt fight because of who is next in line or whatever, but Dana gives the fans results. I dont always agree with him but he has built up the UFC this far, not me. So I will leave the promoting and fightmaking to them and just enjoy the product. As a buisiness man, its his job to make money. We dont get mad at skittles for making money off of new flavors. Whats the difference? Just my opinion.

im not a kimbo hater but im almost positive he wont make it to the finals. the guy has no desire to learn how to grapple. bas was talking in an interview about how he told kimbo that he was an a**h*le because of it.

oh i know he probably won't win it, much less make it to the finals. but it would be nice to see the underdog win.

and he did beat Mercer

With a poorly executed guillotine choke. Mercer complained afterwards because Kimbo said he was going to come out and bang. To be fair though, Kimbo did come out and bang and Mercer guillotined Kimbo first. Kimbo escaped and did a slightly better job with it against Mercer. Mercer tapped quickly.

Oddly enough, before i started reading into this thread, i was on Sherdog and stumbled across picture of the Arlovski / Nelson fight and was thinking "Wow... this guy must NEVER train, because he's HUGE. Didn't Arlovski weighs like 240 and Nelson weigh(ed) 249?

thats a small weight gap, but HUGE differance in size... he huge, and soft. Im not trying to be a hater, but... i mean...

I'm curious to see how he preforms on the show and in training, because IF he lasts, i think he's gonna look way differant come the end.

He's the former IFL HW champ:

Also, he's apparently preggers!

Roy Nelson is VERY legit.

He's one of those guys that shouldn't be on top. He should just get a testing fight on a UFN card or something to gauge him.

I'm picking big country to take the show.

I did note the IFL thing, but still... he looks likes he's going to have twins. I looked for a video of his championship fight.

Im guessing hes like Mike Fischer who fights in Okinawa at the local circut and once he connects with his hands he keeps going till the reff gives the TKO...

But i agree with the first post, he is most well known probally for getting KO'd by A.A.

I don't know... nelson kind of seems like an chance fighter to me. I guess after seeing the clips and pictures from sherdog... i don't know..

I guess its kind of like my view on this one : http://joeduartemma.com/?pid=56 i had mentioned in another thread. There's no way that that guy should have been in the finals.... no way. Espically considering theres a million other kids who thrash themselves day in and day out for their break, and most of which never get it, even though they could probally merc the 'champ' up....

IMO, This ISN'T an/the Ultimate Figher...

I have rolled 5 minutes with Jon Madsen. He is a BEAST. And a good dude. I hope he takes it all.
