Ok, I am back from Vacation. I did not want to come back. It was way too short!
We first stayed in the badlands and went to wall drug. We then went to rapid city and drove through Bear country. That place was awesome! We had a grizzly bear licking the bugs off of our front bumper! The kids were freaking out! They absolutely loved it.
The next stop was Keystone. We went and seen Mt. Rushmore. I could of stayed there all day staring at that. But, a couple of pics with the camera, and the family was wanting to leave! GRRR!!!
We also went into Rushmore cave, and went on a gold mine tour.
Then it was off to Custer National Park. Most of the animals were way off the road, so it wasn't as exciting as i remember it as a kid. But, we did have the wild burros come up to the window looking for food. It was hilarious!
Then off to Estes Park Colorado. This is where we had rain, hail, sunshine and snow all in the same day!
They had the road closed up to the continental divide. They had too much snow up there that morning and couldn't clear it quick enough.
I need a summer home there. It was absolutely beautiful!
Ok, i will quit rambling on. I will post pics soon. Much better than the words!

Yeah, My wife took a ton of pictures of theose little boogers. Afterwards, we stopped and seen the white prairie dogs at some stop that i don't remember. They were cool.
When we were in wyoming, there was an open range that you could shoot the prairie dogs for free. Sounds like they are a big problem. I don't shoot what i don't eat...so that place isn't for me.

Wild burro's at Custer. They came up to your car lookin for people food. They were hilarious. Stubborn things would block your car and come right up to the window! I got to pet one!

most of the time was spent in shops. So, don't let the pics fool you! The outdoors accounted for about a quarter of the time. Next time, I think I am gonna go hike the mountains, while my wife goes down and shops for the day. There is a 6 mile hike to a summit up there in colorado that I would like to do next time. And hopefully, I won't be a treat for a mountain lion! LOL
