DAY 1
Well, I left JFK airport out of NYC at 10 EST on Thursday night. When planning my flights it seemed like a great idea to put myself in Vegas 12 hrs before I could check into my room and after most of the people I knew would be asleep. I landed at about 12:24 a.m. on Friday and immediately texted everyone to let them know that i was there. VCU, Boomer, Gymcoach, and Nate had been hanging out but were all heading off to sleep. Ben and Gym were kind enough to let me come back to the Sahara with them and let me sleep on their floor, and avoid sleeping on the floor of the casino. Both guys Boomer and Nate had some squater named "Eeyore" or "Fiore" sleeping with them so things were tight. We got back to their hotel and after some catching up we all went to sleep.
later that morning me and Gymcoach got up early and went to breakfast and to buy me some deodrant and I somehow got him to demonstrate a proper plank position on the floor of McDonald's. Best part was no one even looked twice. Soooo we went back to the hotel, woke up VCU with stories of Gina Carano playing Keno in the lobby, and we were off to the MGM to meet Boomer and get checked into my, Sender, and Tennessean's room.

As we got off the monorail at the MGM I decided to get in some quick cardio work, by taking the down escalator and then having the guys inform me (from the top) that I had made an error. I weighed my options and went with the logical choice. I ran up the down escalator with my suitcase.
We met with Boomer and he and I went off to get me checked into my room and await the arrival of my roommates. This gave us a great chance to catch up. For those of you who have not had the honor of meeting him, just let me say that he is 1 in a million. Boomer had gotten the room and already had the keys for us as well as our official forum member "Team Hughes" shirts. Me and Boom got stopped at Starbuck's by a lady from CO who wanted to know where she could buy one. I punched her in the stomach for touching it:wink: .
The next couple of hours consisted of many trips back and forth between Boomer and Nate's room at the MGM and our room at the Tropicana. (they are connected by a sky bridge) dropping off suitcases and picking up newly arriving forum members. Most of the people I met for the first time but honestly felt like we'd known each other for years.

DAY 1.5:

So the day was flying by and we wanted to make sure we all got to the Q and A and claimed some good seats to cheer on our man Hughes. This would require sitting through an hour of Frank Mir's demonstration of humility, then about an hour of pre-weighin video.
Boomer and I ate a quick bite with Sender, TN, and Nate before jetting to the arena to meet up with the rest of the folks.
We got in the arena just moments before Gilly-teen and MIKE! GOLDBERG! came out. The gang had saved us some premiere seats where we would be directly at eye level from the scales. I sat down next to Boomer and and was about to say something about the leg room when I noticed who's back my knees were about to jam into
http://i118.photobucket.com/albums/o92/mark_dunn01/serra.jpg
That's right we were sitting directly behind the Tiara's crew. This was going to get interesting. Boomer and I distracted ourselves by sending pics to CrisCo to let him know what he was missing out on, and before we knew it the Q and A started. It got off to a weird start with Goldberg asking Frank to show us his abs, but turned out to be very interesting. Enough of that! bring out Matt Hughes!!!
The weigh ins started and I had to pinch myself to understand that I was actually watching this from the room where it was happening (you'll find that this was a realization I constantly wrestled with). You see, when fight weekends approach I'm typically glued to my laptop watching all of these events and it blew my mind that i was actually there:).
anyways the time came for the Hughes vs Serra weigh-in and as expected the Serra crew went nuts for him and our group and EVERYONE ELSE went nuts for Matt.
We then left the weigh-ins and split up to regroup later for dinner and Karaoke. see Sender's perfect retelling of the Torres Bravo experience- http://www.matt-hughes.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1697&page=6

next time...Karaoke

I KILLLED Llama in arm wrestling! I don't recall biting Ben--have no idea what he's talking about--apparently the boy can't hold his Jack...

Sender beat me...but he cheated like crazy!
