Get off your computer and go train!

Sometimes it is better to take a day to let your body repair and rebuild. I took off class tonight, need to eat some extra calories and rest. Sat it is open mat and I plan to go to that.

That's what I figure. And they wouldn't have invited me if they didn't want to come. It isn't a regular class. So I will be there ready to roll and learn. More bruises to add to my growing collection. The NP at work told me to continue to wear long sleeves so the patients wouldn't think I am a batterred woman.

Do you work for a living? 8 hours in the DoJo on Mondays? 5 hours of Jiu Jitsu?

sorry.. not 5 hours.. a total of 5 hours on monday...

I do 40-50 hours a week at my job yes.

The only time I really have at home is on Fridays-Sundays.. and normally some of that is garage training.

I am going to be 42 in July, but 165lbs.. never been in better shape.. stamina is crazy.. I haven't gotten back below 163 since christmas.. but I haen't been trying.

My wife complains that I am not at home sometimes, but when I am home, I make it all count.

I enjoy working with the kids in the dojo.. watching some 9 year old.. boarder line ADD.. can't do 4 pushups.. or run for 1 minute..

6 months later.. pounding out 25, running for 5 minutes.. a LASER focus. No drgus.. just eating better.. building self confidence getting stronger.. THAT is cool.

I really liked finding out that I am a good teacher.. kids always respond to me for some reason. I am like a living/breathing monkey bar set.

My own training.. I weighed 198 3 years ago.. small changes in diet.. lotsa of work outs.. I didn't think I was ever an "average" guy, but most students in the dojo that are half my age, with the same time in, can't hang with me in workouts and such. My one area is cardio.. almost 20 years of smoking (and I still do a little- but that stops next month).. and I just don't have all the capacity for a 20 minute run.

I am not "shreded".. but well defined. Ben and Kim have seen me..

I have always had a "hair trigger" with my temper.. martial arts helped me control that. and because of that I am a better person, better employee at work, and more importantly a better father.

So Go Train.

Which of course, was the party anthem WAY before Hitler became Chancellor...and interestingly it praises the SA...which is a force that helpped win Hitler, Berlin, until it became so much of a lose canon, that just like the Gestapo, it was smushed and consumed into the SS  bet they stopped singing it then

Well you know its a tune that they put words to in the Hymnal?

The only time I ever had a problem with it was when they made us sing that hymn to the tune of the German National Anthem on Remebrance Sunday...I did feel..that was slightly poor taste.
