We have been hearing about this for over a year.. Sooner or later you just have to say "Tough.. you knew this was coming.."

The coupons for the set top decoder that needs to be bought make the dang thing free... or at least under $10.00.

Associated Press

WASHINGTON (AP) -- People who have not gotten their TV sets ready for the changeover to digital signals could earn a four-month reprieve under a bill making its way through Congress.

The Senate voted Monday to delay until June 12 the deadline for the changeover from analog to digital television broadcasting. People still getting their pictures through old-fashioned antennas otherwise would face a Feb. 17 cutoff.

Comparable legislation is being readied in the House, and the Obama administration has called for a delay amid mounting concerns that too many Americans who rely on over-the-air broadcast signals won't be ready.

It's estimated that more than 6.5 million U.S. households are still not prepared for the upcoming transition.

and 4 months from now, they STILL won't be ready.

You know what will make them get ready - the day they can't get a signal anymore. THAT is the day they'll go out and get their decoder.

That is what I am waiting for. :unsure-1:

I admit I've been dragging my feet on this whole thing. I'm hoping to get cable at some point.

I'm ready and that's all that really matters so bring it on. Quit delaying for the whiney, lazy people.

I've got cable now so I'm not worried. However, it wasn't long ago that I was using an antenna because cable wasn't run to where I live yet. I ended up getting DirecTV first but switched when Cable finally came around because I wanted fast internet too.

If you have DirecTV you're fine. Our local channels have been doing tests like once every week 3 times a day to help people know to check all their tvs in all of their rooms to make sure they work during the switch. Houston is ready. We take tv very seriously here. I think maybe it has something to do with Houston being one of the fattest cities in America. :unsure-1:

For a split second I read fastest. And that thought brought about visuals.

Nevermind. :ashamed: I'm in a weird mood this morning.

It may be fastest too. I'm way too frickin' busy at work sticking my hands where they don't belong because someone "just wanted him to loooooove me". Then next year they bring baby daddy #2, and the next, baby daddy #3 My all time favorite is when 2 men show up and ask how early we'll do the paternity testing.

We chart who is in the room with the patient. I try to never assume. So, to determine who it is I usually start with, "Is this a friend or family?" I love it when they answer, 'That my baby's daddy.' :frantics:

Did I tell you the time a woman came in with the sides of her head shaved, long mohawk thing in a ponytail down the back, lesbian lover in tow, husband in tow, boyfriend in tow. Now becuase of possible issues for that baby at discharge, we need to know who is who and how does it fit into a need to know basis on her medical care. Well the th pt was sleeping with all of them. The lesbian, the husband, and the boyfriend. Hoped we could do a paternity test for her. It was her 10th pregancy 5 carried to term and were born, all had been awarded to the state. She was hoping to keep this one. :scared0011:

Or another pt who liked to smoke crack in the bushes outside of her room. She popped right up out of the bushes one day when we walked by her. Startled all of us. Her baby came early and tested positive for crack so CPS came and cut her visitation bands off and denied her visitation until a further hearing. She was escorted out by security. Her pimp babydaddy was gonna come try to take his baby home....had security watching for that too. It was a mess of a night. With both pts. Ick.

WTF

for me, I am not really into that much tv, so I don't really care about picture quality, etc...
I am much more into film than cable.

but i am sick of hearing about the digital switch over, do it already,
or at least shut up about it.

There is no way that you own a tv or car radio and haven't heard of this.
just impossible
