Reading JB's post, i agree this section doesn't get enough attention, i read plenty of the posts in here but obviously can't always weigh in with valid comments but i do enjoy reading about it and usually good debates. If we were to talk some European Sport, i'd get more involved!

However in the spirit of things, I support Millwall Football Club, their nickname is the Lions.

Henceforth of the many teams i always liked in NFL, the Lions have been one of them, amongst the Rams, loved Faulk, and the Patriots (had some success there!)

Now i know the Rams were useless this season but as far as i am aware the Lions are abysmal.

I know all teams have peaks and trough's, high's and lows but they seem to be in the doldrums for years now.

They can't win a game for toffee!

So what is wrong with them, no money being invested, poor management, poor draft picks, bad luck?!

i would like them to get some credibility back!

by talking sports, I figured we could talk about professional and college teams, not professional teams who couldn't beat a college team:tongue0011:

The lions have never won a superbowl, they are perenial losers...their best season in the super bowl era was in 1991 when they went 12-4, but got routed in the NFC championship game...Despite having one of the greatest RB's of all time, they could not cash that in, he retired early partially because being competitive he couldn't stand being on such a bad team....Their ownership is horrible, and they are the first to go 0-16 in the history of football...I'm not saying you have to bandwagon a winning team, but you could at least find one that has the possibility of winning:laugh: :tongue0011:

Ha ha what can i say, i love supporting the underdog!

I know they have been embarrasing for a good decade now but i thought before that they were competitive! Nevermind.

Guess stick with the Patriots and the Rams, even though they were useless last year!

I am sorry Jon, but my DNA will not allow me to be a fan of any Detroit team.

However, I will say that I think the Lions will do better next season. Well, look on the bright side, they can't really do any worse. :)

Maybe they will Draft Matt Stafford and turn things around, maybe not. I can still see them winning at least 4 or 5 games.

Ha Ha!

Was just interested really in why they have become such perinnial losers.

You know in the basketball thread the other day, these years that i wacthed the Denver Nuggets and LA Clippers were useless beyond belief, but i think, and i only think that both teams perform a lot better right?

The great thing about your system is that the worst team gets the 1st pick of the draft, thats superb as in England the best teams just cherry pick the talent.

It just intrigued me to know why the Lions have been so bad, for so long!

Chicago and Minnesota are going to win the division and will probably sweep the Lions but the Lions may get a win in against the Packers? i hate how every year the draft guys say there is a franchise QB available. no there isn't. every year doesn't equal a franchise QB in the draft. at least not the ones they are talking about, guys in the first round.

Lions should trade down and stack picks. besides, no one likes paying for the first overall pick unless they're a lock and none of the 2 QB's that are being pumped are a lock. if they stay, then take one of the tackles or Curry the OLB.
