So we left Thursday afternoon for Harrisburg so that our 10 year old daughter Paige could compete Friday in the Pennsylvania NASP state finals. Last year she took 2nd and really REALLY wanted to win this year.

Well....SHE DID IT!!!!!! She shot a 241, which is actually low for her, but it was enough. She's in 5th grade and her score was higher than the 1st place finishers for 6th, 7th and 8th grades and she would have placed at least 3rd in 9th-12th!

She qualified for Nationals in Kentucky so we'll be taking another trip! Woot!

Oh...and her team won 1st in the team competition! Hoooray!!!:frantics:

Nationals are in Kentucky--I just checked Kentucky's state rankings and they're averaging scores around 269!!!

Paige's normal average is around 258--We've got a month of some intense work to do!!!

Sorry Brad--it's archery. NASP is National Archery in the Schools Program, which is sponsored by Mathews (although there was a Hoyt table set up there and a lot of Hoyt banners--did they merge? Anyone?)

Her father is one of the coaches and we set up a range for her in our barn so she gets lots of practice time. The program is fantastic--Anyone: if your school doesn't have it--push them to get it!

You're not supposed to allow others to shoot at you. Next time, give them a different target.

Babe, I'm so skinny that all I have to do is turn sideways and I hit invisible mode. No worries.

I can't. I guess there's a time limit on how long you can edit a post. The edit button isn't there.
