From SuperHeroHype.com:

It was announced yesterday (http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=96524) that Disney has bought Lucasfilm and plans on creating an all new Star Wars (http://www.amazon.com/Star-Wars-Vote-Vader-T-Shirt/dp/B0094D2D9U/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1351191382&sr=8-3&keywords=star+wars) trilogy with Episode VII hitting theaters in 2015, followed by a new movie every other year.

Once this was announced and we all calmed down a little, the typical fan fare of who would direct the new films, who would star in them, and what they would be about began. Many fans began to speculate that the new series would be an adaptation of Timothy Zahn's "Thrawn Trilogy," a series of novels considered canon by the people at Lucasfilm; however, it doesn't seem that way.

E! Online (http://www.eonline.com/news/358685/star-wars-7-plot-will-be-an-original-story-says-lucasfilm-source) has learned from a source at Lucasfilm that the new films won't be an adaptation of the books. Their source says "it's an original story."

There's still hope though fellow Star Wars (http://www.amazon.com/Star-Wars-Vote-Vader-T-Shirt/dp/B0094D2D9U/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1351191382&sr=8-3&keywords=star+wars) fans, as Disney plans on using all forms of media for their newly acquired purchase. As George Lucas said himself in the press release, "Disney's reach and experience give Lucasfilm the opportunity to blaze new trails in film, television, interactive media, theme parks, live entertainment, and consumer products."

Sources even tell The Hollywood Reporter (http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/heat-vision/what-a-new-star-wars-384515) that one possibility being considered is an Avengers-style movie universe with not only Lucas' planned final trio of films but offshoot movies focusing on individual characters.

What do you think the new trilogy will be about? While you discuss, we know what Darth Vader will be doing...

Carrie Fisher looks like she's ready to be fitted for her metal bikini again:

Seriously, though, I have trouble believing that her recent weight loss through Jenny Craig is just a coincidence.

I don't know, put her in loose fitting clothes, along with some post production work and she could play a wise, noble leader without destroying too many fanboy fantasies:
