Browning

   June 17th, 2009

Well, I’ve been busy. I just got back from Texas on a hog hunt with Laserlyte. I’ll talk more about that next week after I get some pictures. Last Monday, I went out with Pat Flanigan to meet up with Browning. Winchester was awful close so Pat picked up a new shotgun and also shot for some commercials. I helped out as much as I could, both mentally and whenever he needed a hand. As most of you have probably heard I think my sport is 50% mental and 50% physical and I think Pat’s sport is the same way. One thing I’ve said on here before is that there’s two types of people in this world, there’s people that think they can and they’re people that think they can’t.. they’re both right. When I wasn’t helping Pat, I talked with Browning a little bit. We came up with an agreement and now I am part of the family. You’ll be seeing more of them down the road and quite possibly me on their hunting show. Here is a picture of some of the guys I met out there that get the work done:

Matt, do/have you (hog) hunt? There’s some great hog hunting down here in FL if for some reason you come down this way.

I thought you would never blog again. Any idea when we may see you in the octagon again?

I would love to hear your take on the results of UFC 99. Also, how do you feel you would match up verses Swick? I read that he would like to fight you. I’m a HUGE fan of yours and I got to see you fight at UFC 68 in Columbus. Great victory over Serra!

GOD BLESS,
Kevin

Matt, Glad you had a good hunting trip even though you didn’t say if you killed anything or not but I’m sure you did. A bad day at hunting is still a good day normally just being in the woods for me anyway. I agree with you on the mental part of the sport, I can see it in fighters when they don’t have confidence in themselves and honestly I’ve worried about you at times thinking you need to be more confident and ground and pound. I like the saying Be quick but don’t hurry(John Wooden), I use that at work for production where I’m a supervisor. I’m saying you must react quick and go as fast as possible but don’t rush so you don’t lose quality in what you are making. That can work in sports as well, you always have to be prepared but you can’t rush or you will let your guard down. Glad you are involved with Browning as well. God Bless. John

I would have liked to get you input on UFC 99, what you thought of the fights and some of the fighters.

haha!! When I saw the “Browning” blog title, I thought you were talking about JUNIE BROWNING. I thought maybe he joined HIT SQUAD or something, i don’t know. If that ever happened, I’m sure you would turn him into a champ. And he’d prolly get a lil’ Jesus in him too.

Matt, thats awsome that you might have inked a deal with Browning. Hey I don’t know if I can put a link on here or not, if not then please edit the post, or delete it, as I’m not trying to break any rules. I just thought this site: http://www.monergism.com/ might be something you’re interested in, as well as any of your fans who are wanting a better understanding of theology. It’s really been a great help to me.
Anyway…
Hope all is well, and I’m looking forward to your next fight, whenever that might be (I’m hoping it will be against Thiago Alves after he beats down GSP).
As always you and your family are in my prayers.

Remington Tyler Says:

Hey Matt, It’s so cool that you’ve gotten to meet Winchester and Browning. But, in August in Dallas for the Europa you’re going to get to meet Remington. I’ve signed up for your champ camp and can’t wait to meet you and learn from you. I’ve been taking BJJ and MMA for about a year and am a 4x NAGA champ right now and can’t wait to take it to the next level.

PTUDOR Says:

DUDE, GET IN THE FRONT ROW NEXT TIME OR STAND ON A BOX. THE FIRST THING THAT JUMPED INTO MY MIND WAS THE LINE FROM THE MOVIE ROADHOUSE “I THOUGHT YOU’D BE BIGGER?”. LOL
