June 7th, in England, I fight Thiago Alves. The fight is confirmed, it will be the main event for the card. Dana just called me with the news. Chuck got hurt and couldn’t fight, so he needed a replacement and called me and I said yes. More news as I get it. No matter what happens in this fight, I’ve got Serra next. -matt |

HECK YES, Thank you once again Matt Hughes for saving a UFC card…you’re selflessness apparently knows no bounds, with the addition of your fight, and the rumored addition of bisping vs leben, this card just earned a spot on my buy list, well played Dana! haha, now go get ‘em matt, beat this guy’s ass then walk thru serra like we all know you will!

Much respect to you for coming and saving yet another UFC event (this time as a result of Chuck getting hurt as opposed to Serra).
Even though Alves is a rising star and his KO of Karo was impressive, i see you going through Alves and neutralising his standup/muay thai with your more well roundedness and a way better wrestling and ground game amongst other things.
Great fight, looking forward to it.

I am so glad that you are coming to the uk to fight. I have been waiting for you to come and i was going to come see your fight sadly it’s as much short notice for myself as it is for you as i stay in the North of Scotland and i cannot get there. Although i will definately be watching the fight on the TV. good luck i’m sure it will be a great show.

I notice how Hughes stepped up and took this fight on relatively short notice. Good for him! I also notice that Bisping stepped up as well to fill up a needed spot. Serra (who just fought on the same card as Bisping) is nowhere to be found.
Good luck to Matt Hughes in this upcoming fight against a tough challenger in Thiago Alves. As for Serra, he sure is hard to find for a fight against Hughes, especially considering all the smack-talking he does. Funny how that works out sometimes.

I am not sure, but even if matt serra wanted to fight he couldn’t … i am not 100% sure of the rules, but i think if you lose via ko/tko you can’t fight for 3-4 months .. i may be wrong, so if anyone is up on their althletic commission rules for mma could you please clarify … plus, how is serra supposed to train with less than a month’s notice when he can’t see out of his swollen eyes???

this fight and the serra fight is what you were talking about being able to show your daughter when she is older, a great fighter. train hard and be ready for both fights, maybe serre won’t fake an injury when it comes time to fight you again. train hard, be ready and good luck.

Hi everyone I just wanted to let you all know of a fan experiencing some
hard times. Brent Adams was seriously injured in a dirtbike accident
in December. The origional diagnosis was very grim but Brents progress
has been amazing. You can read about all Brents progress through his
